“.. A California teacher posted a video of border patrol agents detaining her after she refused to say if she was a U.S. citizen at a checkpoint in New Mexico, about 35 miles from the border.

The video has many wondering if she was within her rights or had an obligation to comply.

When San Diego resident Shane Parmely was stopped at a New Mexico border patrol station she refused to answer the agent’s questions. She was heading home from vacation with her three children and asked one of them to start recording the exchange.

The videos have generated thousands of views on Facebook and sparked a heated debate on immigration rights.

The middle school teacher says she did it after hearing her Latino friends talk about their experiences at checkpoints.

“It made me feel sick to get asked, knowing what my friends have been through. It just made me feel physically ill,” Parmely said. ..”

“DES MOINES – A 42-year-old Des Moines, Iowa woman has been charged with attempted murder after she told police she intentionally ran over a 14-year-old girl because she was “a Mexican,” according to the Clive Police Department.

Nicole Marie Poole Franklin is in custody at the Polk County Jail.

Police say on Dec. 9 around 5 p.m., police responded to an apparent hit-and-run crash near Indian Hills Jr. High School in Clive, a suburb of Des Moines. A 14-year-old girl had been walking on the sidewalk headed to an event at the school when a vehicle left the road and hit her. The girl suffered multiple injuries.

Thursday, Clive police identified the driver as Franklin and interviewed her at the Polk County Jail, where she was being held on unrelated charges. Officials say Franklin admitted she hit the girl with her vehicle on purpose because she was “a Mexican.” Throughout the interview, Franklin made a “number of derogatory statements about Latinos,” according to police.

“I want to say, in the strongest terms possible, that there is no place in our community (or any other) for this type of hatred and violence,” read a statement from Clive Police on Facebook. “We are committed to stand by and support this family and work diligently with them to seek justice.””

Conservative media, based on some sleuthing on Google, has been generally quiet about Damond’s death — which is notable on its own, given that these outlets often counter what they see as liberal news narratives with their own narratives, particularly when it comes to police shootings. As one example, a Google search turns up four stories on the Blaze, the network founded by conservative pundit Glenn Beck, about Damond, but there are pages and pages of results from the Blaze for each of the killings of black men like Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, and Philando Castile.

When conservative outlets have written about Damond’s death, they by and large have framed her as a victim. Here is, for example, Fox News: “Australian woman shot dead by Minneapolis police after calling to report possible crime.” And here is the Blaze: “Questions swirl after Australian woman is fatally shot by Minneapolis police; bodycams were off.”

Damond’s lawyer played into this as well, calling Damond “the most innocent victim” of a police shooting that he has ever seen. He quickly added, “I’m not saying Philando wasn’t innocent, too, or that Frank Baker wasn’t innocent. But here is someone who called the police and was trying to stop someone from being hurt … and ends up being shot in her pajamas.”

Ranking victims of police shootings is odd enough, but there are plenty of totally innocent victims of police killings besides Damond. Consider that, in Detroit, police in 2010 killed a sleeping 7-year-old when they stormed her home while looking for her uncle — though this girl, unlike Damond, was poor and black…”

King has not replied to users about why he’s not commenting, though many are suggesting it’s because the perpetrator of the act is an African American woman. Some users are even alleging that King tweeted out news of the attack, then deleted the tweet upon finding out Jones’s race…”

What “lies” have you believed….do you still?

Can you fill the blank? What does your name mean to you? Have you ever been called “some other name” that you believed?…from a “bully”? teased/make fun of?

I remember being teased back in middle school/junior high and was called many names that I started to believe. For example, my physical features (e.g. “big eyes”, “Yoda”, “big nose”, “shorty”, “terrorist”, “you look like the enemy” (Persian Gulf War at the time), racist remarks , sexuality, etc..) weren’t the same with the people around me-who does anyways? -God has made us all uniquely-beautiful-and different! Anyways, I started to believe in many of these “lies”..

My self-esteem just went lower and lower as I grew older. I would at times have “suicidal” thoughts and suffered depression. I went through a season where I even wished I was “white” like most of my peers. With all this, my hatred and anger grew, which I would keep to myself and was anti-social.

I slowly grew out of the lies starting my college years when I had a “spiritual awakening” (see personal testimony). My low self-esteem didn’t disappear overnight, but it slowly faded away as I grew in my faith and my found identity as a “child of Him (Heavenly Father)…

One last thought is we need to be careful what you put above God (e.g idols). I used to struggle with this (e.g. sports, music, celebrities, etc..), which I can share the “negative effects” on another blog topic. This will affect one’s identity, which will give you a false belief.

*NOTE: I’m not trying to be the “angel” (righteous) here, but I’ve had my share of being the “devil”. I’ve teased others too or said things that might’ve “offended” them, which some has boldly reminded me. When the leader of revolt against the Eternal Creator was expelled from heaven, expelled along with him were many other angel intelligences who had yielded to his cunning sophistries and had joined in his unworthy rebellion. During the unfortunate riots in Baltimore earlier this month, I had people close to me comment how “blacks” are always causing the most trouble all the time. Having “black” friends, I was somewhat “offended” (but forgiving). I decided to “research” on this topic:

The mainstream media plays to the political establishments divide and conquer strategy with great effectiveness, not just over race, but also anything that could help divide the American people! The mainstream media pays close attention to the fanatic fringe groups in America and makes good use of them by portraying them over and over again as mainstream and serious, generalizing entire groups of people based on only a handful of lunatics.

Making sure the American people are divided is essential for the political establishment and the mainstream media does all it can to promote division amongst the people even on the simplest of issues. This allows the political parties to “power up” their supports by playing one off the other no matter how superficial the reason may seem. For black and white Americans – the media will go to the KKK and tell you how bad all white people are and/or go to the New Black Panthers and tell you how bad all black people are! They will repeat this over and over again for weeks on their news stations until it is burned into your mind! And yes, subconsciously it starts to affect how you see your fellow American.

The media needs to create and enhance racial conflict (or at minimum, the perception of such) so the political establishment can use their divide and conquer strategy more effectively. They will play and replay fanatic speech from the small fringe faction on both sides and tell you this is what EVERYONE on both sides really believe! This is the perception the media creates and every group has its militant fringe which the mainstream media is drawn to. Remember, the mainstream media only reports what they want you to hear/see. ..”

Rodney King is a convicted felon with a long criminal record. On March 3, 1991, he was out of jail on parole, and driving recklessly and at great speed through residential streets of Los Angeles. It was later determined that he was blind drunk — there was 2½ times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood, and there was marijuana in his system — and his driving showed it….
Virtually all television stations chose to show only the last part, in which Mr. King was on the ground and was being pounded in a way that appeared — and may well have been — excessive. However, because Mr. King is black, the media had a ready-made explanation for the beating. “Racism” explained it, and the media gave full voice to the war-cry that means they think they have a sure enough white “racist” in their sights.
