Deep Thought: Life Purpose- Just “graduated”..what now?

What are you going to “do” now? What are your plans after graduation? What’s next? These are just some of the many questions graduates (and even non-graduates too) ponder as they are frequently bombarded with by family members, friends, etc.. I “graduated” from college almost 19+ years ago and sometimes “ponder” some of these questions too. However, as one gets “older”, we tend to find more of that “purposeful life” as we grow (hopefully most of us) in “wisdom”. I decided to do this blog topic to “encourage” those in similar boats..

If you just recently graduated…congratulations!

You deserve the recognition and accolades! It’s a big accomplishment! I current and have been working with “high school dropouts” in getting their G.E.D. or high school diploma. One of my oldest student was in her 50’s! It’s not that easy for many due to the various different “life challenges” and circumstances each person faces. In fact, this leads to one possible idea on what to do “next”! Pay it forward, help (e.g. volunteer) someone in your local community (e.g. community ed) get their G.E.D. You know something that many people don’t and you can share that knowledge with others. This brings up to this video I recently found as a great start in that “journey” in finding that “purpose in life”..

How to know your life purpose in 5 minutes | Adam Leipzig | TEDxMalibu

Who YOU are?
1-What’s your #name (what does it mean)?
2-What are you “good” (#talents #skills) at?

OTHER people
3-Who do you do it for (How do you #serve them?)?
4-What do they want you #need (How can you #help people?)?
5-How do they #change or #transform what you give them? (#makeadifference) ?

#lifepurpose

#happypeople make other #happy

Did you find answers to all the questions above? Good! You are already on your way to a finding answers that many people my age or older don’t know already. I encourage you to share these answers with as many family members and close love ones. They might build on these answer and help direct you to the many questions you pondered earlier mentioned above or beginning of this blog.

“…Also, there is a lot of evidence (such as carvings and paintings of dinosaur-like creatures)—and (unfossilized) dinosaur bone with red blood cells—that makes sense in the light of the biblical account of history. Did you know that a dinosaur may be described in detail in the Bible? Check out Job 40:15–19. And if the notes in your Bible state that this animal was an elephant or hippo, read the passage again to see that this can’t be so.

Did you know the word “dinosaur” was first invented in 1841? Dinosaurs were probably called “dragons” before that time. And the Hebrew word for “dragon” is used a number of times in the Old Testament. There are also dragon legends prevalent in cultures around the world. It’s possible these are accounts of encounters with beasts we today call dinosaurs.

Diver’s sea creature find is ‘discovery of a lifetime’
Jasmine Santana finds 18-foot oarfish carcass at Catalina Island; bizarre-looking denizens are rarely seen and once spawned tales of sea serpents

October 15, 2013 by Pete Thomas

http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/nature/post/divers-sea-creature-find-is-discovery-of-a-lifetime/

“…They’re believed responsible, in the times of ancient mariners, for spawning tales of sea serpents and dragons that would rise like demons to steal crewmen and sink tall ships.

They’re rarely encountered but sometimes when they die or are near-death, they surface and wash ashore.

Only a handful of live specimens have been found. Interestingly, Catalina was the site of at least one such discovery.

In 2006, a 15-foot oarfish was spotted in the island’s Big Fisherman’s Cove. Harbormaster Doug Oudin snorkeled alongside the docile creature before it eventually perished. It was collected for study.

Last year at the Baja California resort city of Cabo San Lucas, a 15-foot barely-live oarfish washed ashore on a popular beach. It also died soon after its discovery.

The modern discovery of oarfish may date to 1808, when a 56-foot serpent-like creature washed ashore in Scotland.

In 1901, a 22-foot oarfish drifted onto the sand in Newport Beach, California, becoming, according to one reference book, “the basis for many sea-serpent stories told by local bar patrons for more than a decade after its discovery.”..”

Hadrosaur skin found by David Catchpoole
Published: 23 July 2013 (GMT+10) creation.com
“..The discovery of hadrosaur (duck-billed dinosaur) skin near Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, is a classic example. University of Regina researcher Mauricio Barbi recounts: “As we excavated the fossil, I thought we were looking at a skin impression. Then I noticed a piece came off and I realized this is not ordinary—this is real skin. Everyone involved with the excavation was incredibly excited ….”2

Their excitement is understandable. Everybody is taught that dinosaurs became extinct millions of years ago yet here is a piece of real skin. No wonder they didn’t expect to find it, and initially thought it must have been only a skin impression. The basic question arising from the discovery ought now to have been, “Why is it that we’ve been taught these fossils are millions of years old, when here quite plainly is evidence to the contrary?”

Instead, Mauricio Barbi and colleagues are trying to answer their question: “how the fossil remained intact for around 70 million years.” ..”

Leonardo DiCaprio was uncomfortable with cruel Django Unchained character 17/12/2012 newshub.co.nz
“..He says, “It was this incredibly interesting horrific character. I mean, there was absolutely nothing about this man I could identify with. I hated him and it was one of the most narcissistic, racist characters I’ve ever read in my entire life.”

DiCaprio reveals he almost chose to soften his character – but was persuaded to stick to his tough approach by Foxx and Jackson, who both play slaves, because there really were slave masters like that throughout American history.

He continues, “One of the pivotal moments for me was this initial read through, I wondered if it needed to be this violent and this atrocious to other human beings and it was Sam and Jamie who said, ‘If you sugarcoat this people are gonna resent the hell out of you. You got to push this guy to the outer extreme.’ That is what ignited me into going the way I did into the character. Once I read about the sugar plantations (in history), we’re just scratching the surface of what happened in this country.”

DiCaprio was also hesitant about using the ‘N’ word repeatedly, as dictated by Tarantino’s script, but Jackson let him know none of his black co-stars were offended by the racially derogative term because it was the language of that time.

Foxx explains, “At one point he (DiCaprio) was feeling it was tough saying his lines, ‘nigga, nigga’ and Samuel pulled him aside and says, ‘Hey motherf**ker, this is another Tuesday for us. Let’s go!’ They were really trying to go back to that time.”..”

Swearing on YouTube: Should You Cut the Profanity?

“Published on Dec 11, 2014

While you may curse, use swear words, and say all sorts of profanity with your friends, should you use it in your YouTube videos? There’s certainly benefits to not swearing in your videos if you’re hoping to have as many opportunities available to you as possible (like brand deals), but some creators may feel like they then have to pretend to be someone they’re not. What do you think? Do you eliminate swearing from your videos or do you keep it in?

Biblical Perspective

Profanity – A Biblical Assessment by Wayne Jackson christiancourier.com
“..He wonders how it is that one identifies “profanity.” The Bible only warns against the evil use of language in a general way, but it doesn’t specify which words are to be avoided. Is it a cultural question?

This is an excellent item for study. It is true that this issue is not addressed in a solitary, compact biblical context. There are, though, helpful principles in Scripture that assist in clarifying this bewilderment. Think about these points for a moment…”

Sal: I used to swear “a lot” growing-up due to anger issues and the culture. I remember one swear word in Filipino (parents’ native language) as my parents would say it all the time whenever my siblings or I would do something bad. They would get mad if we repeat it..lol! I didn’t realize how bad it was until I went to college after becoming a Christian (see personal testimony) and my “friends” would tell me that I need to cut it! One friend challenged me to put a quarter in the church offering every time I swore. This was a great challenge as a “poor” college student. I slowly decreased my swearing as I realize I didn’t really have enough money anymore! Lol! My profanity/swearing didn’t go right away. I remembered many years ago I was doing a “church” volunteer activity and a lady from church “challenged” me that the words I was using isn’t used in her household. I never realized what I was saying was “profane”, which was opened my eyes more on the “need” to grow out of this. When I catch myself saying anything “negative” overall now, I try to ask God for forgiveness and double the “negative” with a “positive” (e.g. I would sing/say “Praise the Lord”!) I’m getting better each time..thank you God for helping me!

What are your thoughts? Should “we” swear or not? Why? Feel free to share your sources or websites that you might have to support your answer..

What’s up with…?! Post-elections Hate

Mich. students chant ‘build the wall’ in viral video USA TODAY Katrease Stafford (Thursday, November 10th 2016)
“…ROYAL OAK, Mich. — A viral video of middle school students at a Michigan school shouting “build the wall” during a lunch hour Wednesday has sparked outrage across social media, leading some to demand that school district officials take action.

The video, which has nearly 2 million views and more than 45,000 shares, shows a group of students leading the chant in the cafeteria of Royal Oak Middle School. The woman who posted the short video on Facebook, Dee Perez-Scott, said in a brief caption that the incident happened Wednesday.

“The taunts, the ‘Build that Wall’ with such bullying power and hate from children to children,” wrote Perez-Scott. “Just horrifying!”..”

This is sample of why “us” adults need to be careful on how we express our “political views” at home. Kids are watching our reaction to this political election and everything we do. I have a “young” teenager friend that came to my house wanting to bike one day as he shared how he was tired of his parents watching the “political debates”. Then another “friend” (college age) express similar feelings on how he was “tired” of his parents watching it too.

Post-election racism makes students uneasy Solvejg Wastvedt · Nov 10, 2016 .mprnews.org
“The day after the election, messages including “whites only”, “Trump Train” and the n-word were scrawled on a bathroom door at Maple Grove Senior High.

The district reacted by starting an investigation and contacting police. And the next morning, a parent told MPR News that her daughter found students smiling and handing out cookies, along with messages of acceptance posted on the wall.

• NewsCut: Maple Grove kids fight back against the racists

Reactions to Tuesday’s presidential election are playing out in schools around the state, with tension reported in some cases as students bring differing views to class.

The smiles and cookies after the racist graffiti in Maple Grove were a step toward healing divisions — but they certainly won’t solve a problem that is not unique to Maple Grove.

Students around the state are struggling with divisions that mirror the country’s deeply divided voting-age adults.

• Related: Trump victory spells uncertainty for Minnesotans feeling alienated by his rhetoric

East across the Mississippi River at Spring Lake Park High School, Principal Jane Stevenson wrote a Facebook post about a report of “disrespectful, inappropriate and racially offensive graffiti” on a girls’ bathroom wall. Pictures of it made the rounds on social media, and Stevenson condemned the act.

Stevenson said the police are involved and the district is investigating.

In an interview before word of the graffiti spread to media, Spring Lake Park band teacher Nora Tycast said she hadn’t seen an increase in racist incidents post-election, she said the school routinely struggles with racial tension.

“My colleagues and I see just a wide gamut of reactions from students, students that are really sad and scared, and students that are really excited and pleased,” Tycast said. “So on Wednesday morning we saw a lot of fist pumping, and really kids really feeling free to express their excitement and kind of their pride in the country in a bunch of different ways. And we also had some students that were a lot more subdued.”

It’s unclear how many incidents similar to the racist graffiti in Maple Grove there may be.

The Minnesota Department of Education says it’s received three calls about incidents of harassment in schools. MPR News looked into a report of white students intimidating Latino students at Jefferson High School in Bloomington. The district says it’s investigated the report and denies that physical intimidation happened.

But shy of explicit incidents, it’s undeniable that some students are dealing with anxiety. Administrators in several districts sent letters home encouraging civility and denouncing racism and harassment.

Amy Hewett-Olatunde, who teaches English Language Learners at LEAP High School in St. Paul, said all her students are immigrants or refugees, and many of them are fearful.

“Many of them think that they need to think about where to go, if they go home. If they don’t have a place to go home to, what should they do,” she said. “Their parents are also extremely fearful of what may happen in terms of retaliation.”

Higher Ground Academy, also in St. Paul, has a primarily African-American population. Teacher Catherine Eisele said she’s sensed fear among her students since the primaries.

“I had three kids come up to me yesterday like, ‘Am I going to get deported?’ like quietly in the halls, not in front of everybody,” she said.

But on Thursday in civics class, Eisele taught her students how the American government works — she’s teaching them how to debate ideas.

Her students have been split throughout the election on policies. For Lyla, a 10th grader, President-elect Donald Trump’s views don’t worry her too much.

“It’s not like he’s going to make every single decision,” she said. “He has a cabinet behind him, they’re going to help him make good decisions.”

Another 10th grader, Adar, feels differently about Trump, saying she’s afraid of an increase in hate crimes following the election.

“I am worried about his supporters,” she said. “Racism has existed, you know, for a long time in our history, but I feel like he brought all the racists out, all the sexists out.”

But Adar said she’s not worried about being deported. She’s been paying attention in civics class.

“I know my rights”, she said.

RAW: Violent anti-Trump protest near Inauguration

Violence flares in Washington during Trump inauguration By Jonathan Landay and Scott Malone | WASHINGTON Politics | Sat Jan 21, 2017 | 7:58am EST reuters.com
“…
Black-clad activists among hundreds of demonstrators protesting Donald Trump’s swearing-in on Friday clashed with police a few blocks from the White House, in an outburst of violence rare for an inauguration.

At least 217 people were arrested in the melees, police said.

The burst of civil disorder followed a fierce presidential campaign that ended in a stunning victory for Republican Trump over Democrat Hillary Clinton on Nov. 8 and left the country divided.

Many of Trump’s supporters traveled to Washington to cheer their new president on Inauguration Day. Tens of thousands of detractors are expected to march peacefully on Saturday.

In the violence, knots of activists in black clothes and masks threw rocks and bottles at officers wearing riot gear, who responded with volleys of tear gas and stun grenades as a helicopter hovered low overhead. …

Protesters and police said the violent activists were acting independently of organized opposition to Trump.

The Disrupt J20 group on Twitter said its anger was not directed only at Trump, and that it would also have demonstrated had Democrat Hillary Clinton won the election last November.

Not far from the White House, Bob Hrifko, a member of the Bikers for Trump group, said he was struck in the face with an aluminum chair when he tried to intervene in a scuffle involving police and protesters.

“We need more order. This ain’t right,” said Hrifko, who was bleeding from a cut under his eye.

Connection to Post -Election?

He yelled ‘Get out of my country,’ witnesses say, and then shot 2 men from India, killing one By Mark Berman and Samantha Schmidt February 24 washingtonpost.com
“..According to witness accounts, the gunman reportedly told two of the people who were shot — both Indian men who work for Garmin, the technology firm — to “get out of my country” before opening fire and had also used racial slurs during the Wednesday evening shooting…

The father of one of the people injured pointed to the election of President Trump, who has routinely described a threat posed to Americans from people outside the country’s borders, and pleaded with parents in India “not to send their children to the United States.”

The White House responded by calling the link to Trump’s rhetoric absurd, according to Reuters….

He reportedly came back into the bar and hurled racial slurs at the two Indian men, including comments that suggested he thought they were of Middle Eastern descent. When he started firing shots, Grillot, a regular at the bar whom Bohnen called “everyone’s friend,” moved to get involved…”

Cop Fatally Shoots Black Man, Leaves Victim’s Girlfriend To Record Tragic Aftermath 07/07/2016 02:09 am ET | huffingtonpost.com
“..Castile’s death at the hands of police comes just a day after local cops shot another black man, Alton Sterling, in circumstances that shocked the world. Sterling was selling CDs outside a store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday when police, responding to a complaint about a man wielding a gun, tackled him in order to arrest him.

Someone yelled that Sterling had a gun and the police shot him at point-blank range while he was subdued on the ground. The shooting was captured in a graphic video that roiled the public’s conscience. The subsequent release of another video confirmed that Sterling was not have a gun in his hands at the time.

Philando Castile: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

“..In her Facebook Live video, Lavish Reynolds said that Philando Castile was “licensed to carry” and was “trying to get out his ID” and “let the officer know he had a firearm, and he was reaching for his wallet, and the officer just shot him. … He just shot his arm off.”..

In an emotional press conference held Thursday, which you can view above, Reynolds gave a detailed account of the stop that led to Castile’s death, prompted by a “broken taillight, which wasn’t broken.” She described Castile as “the quietest, most laid-back person you would ever meet. He was loving. … Nothing within his body language said intimidation. Nothing within his body said ‘shoot me.’ Nothing within his body language said ‘kill me, I want to be dead.’ He did not do nothing but what the police officer asked of us, which was to put your hands in the air and get your license and registration.” She said they were returning from the grocery store when stopped, according to CNN.”..

Mangseth said the details were still being investigated. He told the Post that he hadn’t yet seen the Facebook video. At one point in the video, the officer can be heard saying, “I told him not to reach for it! I told him to get his head up!”

When you inform an officer that you are armed, you need to follow the officer’s instructions exactly. Not reach for your wallet when he is telling you to keep your hands where he can see them. How in the hell is the officer supposed to know what you are reaching for? A white would have gotten shot for the exact same thing I guarantee you.

According to reports the officer asked to see his ID after Castile told him that he was armed and had a permit. If he was reaching for his ID to comply with the officer’s request, that cop is guilty of murder. I’m not saying the cop intentionally murdered him rather that he was jittery and overreacted. Do you really think that he would have reacted to a white guy the same way he did with Castile? Nope. I wouldn’t be surprised if this officer ends it all. He knows he’s in deep sh*t.

Two Phony Excuses for Shooting Philando Castile-
Jeronimo Yanez’s defenders falsely portray Castile as a disobedient stoner.

Jacob Sullum|Jun. 22, 2017 8:30 am reason.com
“..oxicology tests found THC in Castile’s blood, but post-mortem levels are an unreliable indicator of impairment because THC is stored in body fat and re-enters the bloodstream after death. Even when blood is drawn from a living source, THC levels cannot be directly tied to impairment, partly because individual responses vary widely and regular users develop tolerance. It is therefore not clear whether Castile was under the influence of marijuana at the time of the shooting or, if so, how intoxicated he might have been.

Castile was disobedient. The question of Castile’s cannabis consumption is relevant only if you accept the defense argument that marijuana impaired his ability to follow Yanez’s instructions, as evidenced by his failure to do as he was told. But the dashcam video of the shooting does not support the claim that Castile was uncooperative. To the contrary, he interacted with Yanez calmly and politely, handed over his insurance card as instructed, and let the officer know he was carrying a concealed firearm (for which he had a permit). According to Reynolds, whose account on this point has always been consistent, Castile was reaching for his wallet so he could retrieve his driver’s license, which Yanez had also requested, when the officer became agitated.

Notably, Yanez never told Castile to stop moving, to keep his hands in plain view, or to put them on the dashboard. Instead he told Castile, “Don’t pull it out,” referring to the handgun. “I’m not pulling it out,” Castile assured Yanez. “He’s not pulling it out,” Reynolds reiterated. This is the point at which Yanez freaked out, screaming, “Don’t pull it out!” He immediately drew his pistol and fired seven rounds at Castile, who managed to say “I wasn’t reaching for it” before he died.

You can argue that Castile should have realized his movements were making Yanez nervous or that he should have proactively put his hands on the dashboard, even though Yanez had not told him to do so. But it is not accurate to say that Castile disobeyed Yanez’s commands. All the evidence suggests that Castile thought he was doing what Yanez wanted by retrieving his driver’s license. It was Yanez who made mistaken assumptions about Castile (viewing him as a robbery suspect based on no real evidence, viewing him as a deadly threat after Castile disclosed that he had a gun), failed to communicate his wishes, failed to take routine precautions (such as instructing Castile to put his hands on the dashboard or stepping back from the car window), and flew into a panic within seconds.

It is true that Castile might still be alive had he acted differently. If he had never mentioned the gun, for example, he in all likelihood would have survived the encounter. But even though Minnesotans with concealed-carry permits are not legally required to tell police about their guns when they are pulled over, cops prefer that they do so to avoid scary surprises, and experts generally recommend disclosure. Castile was doing what he thought he was supposed to do when he said, “Sir, I have to tell you that I do have a firearm on me.” It turned out to be a fatal mistake only because of Yanez’s unprofessional, irrational reaction…”

“…“He is deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of Philando Castile. Tragically, the use of force became necessary in reacting to the actions of Mr. Castile. This heartbreaking incident had nothing to do with race. It had to do with the presence of a gun.”

According to a BCA release, Officer Yanez and Officer Joseph Kauser conducted a traffic stop about 9:17 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Larpenteur Avenue West and Fry Street in Falcon Heights. Castile, of St. Paul, was the driver of the vehicle involved in the stop.

Both officers have been with the St. Anthony Police Department for four years.

Both are on standard administrative leave.

Yanez approached the vehicle from the driver’s side as Kauser approached from the passenger side. At one point during the exchange, Yanez fired his weapon, striking Castile multiple times, according to the BCA.

Yanez radioed for an ambulance as members of the Roseville Police Department and the St. Paul Fire Department administered medical aid…”

Although Yanez’s face couldn’t be seen on the video, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) released his and Kauser’s name to the public Friday, according to The Daily Mail. Twenty-eight-year-old Yanez has been an officer with the St. Anthony Police Department for the past four years, but is now on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. The Department has not responded to Romper’s request for comment regarding the shooting.

Details about Yanez are still scarce, although The Daily Mail noted that now-deleted accounts linked to Ynez on wedding site The Knot and its related pregnancy site The Bump suggested he was married to his wife in November 2014, and that they welcomed a child together on August 4, 2015. Yanez appears to have no prior criminal record, other than a few minor traffic violations. John Lozoya, the founder of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association, said Yanez has been an active volunteer through that organization as well.

He referred to him as “passionate” and “good-natured” and asked that the public be patient as the investigation into Castile’s death continues.

“It’s very easy to jump to conclusions, and it’s almost human nature sometimes to do that. We are all guilty of it,” said Lozoya, who is also a member of law enforcement. “We just ask that people wait until everything comes out on the table before judgment is passed.”..”

The Latest: Expert believes motorist was high when shot Published June 08, 2017 Associated Press foxnews.com
“..3 p.m.

A toxicology expert says he believes a black motorist who was shot to death during a traffic stop in Minnesota was under the influence of marijuana.

Glenn Hardin, a former supervisor of Minnesota’s state toxicology lab, testified Thursday as a witness for Officer Jeronimo Yanez. Yanez is charged with manslaughter in the death of 32-year-old Philando Castile last July in a St. Paul suburb.

Defense attorneys have argued Castile was stoned at the time of the shooting, which happened in the seconds after he informed Yanez that he was carrying a gun. Hardin said he examined autopsy reports showing Castile’s blood levels of THC, the substance in marijuana that gives a high.

Prosecutor Jeff Paulsen attacked Hardin’s testimony by citing studies he said show there’s no way to determine marijuana intoxication from blood samples…”

‘…St. Anthony police training documents outline how an officer should respond to traffic stops. According to the documents, if an officer believes it’s a high-risk stop — as one involving an armed robbery suspect would likely be — he should have the driver and others exit the car before approaching the vehicle, while officers take cover and draw their weapons.

BREAKING: Truth About Terence Crutcher Comes Out… It’s BAD for the Media conservativetribune.com
“…Now, you watch that video and listen to the commentary. Did it look to you like Crutcher was following commands? You can hear an officer say that Crutcher was “still walking” and that he wasn’t “following commands.” Another officer said that he “could be on something.”

Take a look at these pictures Bearing Arms grabbed from the video that disprove the media’s false narrative:…

As you can see, Crutcher was not shot with his hands up. He was clearly flouting officer orders, and at the time of his shooting he lowered his right hand toward his waistband.

Oh, and by the way, the media have run with the story that Crutcher was unarmed, but didn’t seem too interested in the PCP that was found in his car and that the Tulsa Police Department officer who shot Crutcher, Betty Shelby, was trained to spot PCP abuse, according to Bearing Arms.

In any of these cases, the legal system should be given time to do its job, but the media have decided to run false narratives that fit their agenda without all the facts and, in some cases, despite the facts.

As you can see above, there’s clearly more to the story….”

ISIS Mercenary Admits Getting Funds from US journal-neo.org
“…1414324972-The Express Tribune, an affiliate of the New York Times, recently reported in an article titled, “Startling revelations: IS operative confesses to getting funds via US,” that another “coincidence” appears to be contributing to the so-called “Islamic State’s” (ISIS) resilience and vast resources. A recent investigation being conducted by Pakistani security forces involving a captured ISIS fighter has revealed that he and many fighters alongside him, received funds that were routed through the US.

“During the investigations, Yousaf al Salafi revealed that he was getting funding – routed through America – to run the organisation in Pakistan and recruit young people to fight in Syria,” a source privy to the investigations revealed to Daily Express on the condition of anonymity.

Al Salafi is a Pakistani-Syrian, who entered Pakistan through Turkey five months ago. Earlier, it was reported that he crossed into Turkey from Syria and was caught there. However, he managed to escape from Turkey and reached Pakistan to establish IS in the region.

The Tribune would also reveal that the findings of the investigations were being shared with the United States. The source cited by the Tribune suggested a compelling theory as to why the US has attempted to portray itself as “at war with ISIS,” stating:

“The US has been condemning the IS activities but unfortunately has not been able to stop funding of these organisations, which is being routed through the US,” a source said…”
US Admits Paying Al-Qaeda and ISIS Terrorists For Services Rendered In Syria

Still, despite the fact that even the U.S. government itself has admitted that it was funding terrorists– directly and indirectly through Saudi Arabia, the suggestion was met with disbelief, ridicule, or either entirely ignored.

Now, however, the United States government has admitted that it funds terrorists on the ground in Syria yet again, this time placing an individual dollar amount on the assistance provided.

According to the Pentagon, Syrian “rebels” being trained and “vetted” by the United States are receiving “compensation” to the tune of anywhere between $250 to $400 per month to act as America’s proxy forces in the Middle East. Reuters reports that the payment levels were confirmed by the Pentagon and also that the Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Navy Commander Elissa Smith both separately admitted the fact that these “new” terrorists are receiving a stipend…”

Abused: How do you heal from your traumatic “childhood” past?

I just chatted with a “friend” about how it was tough living in an abusive home as a child. She said it was good to talk about it with someone as it was difficult to talk to anyone growing-up. We shared about how it was tough to talk about anything to our high school counselor.

How about you? Have you had any similar experiences? How do you deal with it?

Stories from Adults Looking Back on Abuse burstingthebubble.com
“…As a young child, as soon as my dad started yelling when he was drunk, I was locked in my bedroom in the dark, crying while my dad belted my mum. I could hear everything – the yelling, the crying. As I got older I would get my little brother and sister, hide them in my room, then run out of my room to help my mum. Sometimes I would get hit trying to protect her.

I hated going to school – I couldn’t concentrate. Who could be bothered with it – everyone sitting up nicely doing their work and me pretending I wasn’t worried about going home to protect my mum and siblings again. …

I’m now 25 years old and I am working in a women’s refuge for domestic violence. I work with the children who come in to the refuge. It’s a rewarding job, being able to assist the children in living with and leaving domestic violence. I love life – I have a gorgeous husband and son with another baby on the way.

I believe if I can come from the lowest place possible to achieving my goals and believing life really is a good thing, then it is possible for other young people too. Seek help from someone you trust or a professional. There are people out there who care even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. It’s okay to feel the way you feel because of the situation you are in.

“Alesha Dixon explores the trauma and fall-out from domestic violence, from a child’s perspective. Alesha highlights the neglect of children at the centre of domestic violence and how, left unheard, those children can be emotionally scarred for life.

Alesha witnessed her mum Beverley being beaten by her live-in boyfriend when she was very young. In this film, she meets girls and boys who have witnessed domestic violence and discovers how it affected their lives.

This is a journey for Alesha as she, in parallel with her own experiences, examines what happens when relationships break down — between parents, between local authorities and between parent and child. And she looks ahead to see how those broken bonds can be healed.”

We don’t know if she has ever witnessed domestic violence in her household or ever will. What we do know is more than 3 million children have witnessed it in their homes every year, according to estimates. What those children see and hear can have a profound impact on their lives, experts around the country who deal with domestic violence tell CNN….
