What is schizophrenia?
Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and acts. Although schizophrenia is not as common as other mental disorders, it can be very disabling. Approximately 7 or 8 individuals out of 1,000 will have schizophrenia in their lifetime.
People with the disorder may hear voices or see things that aren’t there. They may believe other people are reading their minds, controlling their thoughts, or plotting to harm them. This can be scary and upsetting to people with the illness and make them withdrawn or extremely agitated. It can also be scary and upsetting to the people around them.
People with schizophrenia may sometimes talk about strange or unusual ideas, which can make it difficult to carry on a conversation. They may sit for hours without moving or talking. Sometimes people with schizophrenia seem perfectly fine until they talk about what they are really thinking…”

Research conducted in the past decade indicates that schizophrenia is due to a genetic predisposition and environmental stressors early in a child’s development (during pregnancy and birth, and/or early childhood) which lead to subtle alterations in the brain that make a person susceptible to developing schizophrenia. Additional environmental factors and stresses later in life (during childhood, adolescence and young adulthood) can either damage the already vulnerable brain further or lessen the expression of neurodevelopmental defects and decrease the risk of schizophrenia…”

In this video MQ Fellow, Dr Joshua Roffman, discusses his research investigating whether folic acid exposure in the womb is a critical factor in the brain development affecting schizophrenia risk. Dr Roffman’s work capitalises on the introduction of folic acid fortification in the United States in the late 1990’s, and uses MRI scans from children whose mothers were pregnant in the US during this time. His work will determine whether exposure to folic acid impacts the neural signatures of schizophrenia risk.

Forgiveness Won’t Fix Your Toxic Relationship
We are always called to forgive; but forgiveness should not be seen as a remedy to another’s character
“…Before we go any further, we must acknowledge that men can also be the victims of emotional abuse—but the statistics are difficult to interpret because men are even less likely than women to report emotional abuse.
We are always called to forgive; but forgiveness should not be seen as a remedy to another’s character, rather a soothing balm to protect our own hearts from bitterness.
But we see sisters and brothers letting destructive people into their lives, laboring under the fundamental misunderstanding that forgiveness equals being a doormat. It’s common as Christians to put ourselves in harm’s way, stay in abusive relationships and fail to set healthy boundaries—all under the banner of “forgiveness.” I know from experience.
Forgiveness and reconciliation are very different, yet often confused, perhaps because of the widespread teaching that God forgives us and doesn’t remember our sins. Are we to follow in His steps when we continue in toxic, abusive relationships?…

Above is a post I shared in one of my groups (Good News Love) I created on facebook. I’ve heard there is power when we forgive each other, so I would like to start…
If any of my friends read this, please forgive me if I ever wronged you in anyway. I might’ve forgotten it, so please feel free to contact me and remind me if this will help release any resentment, offense, or hurt that will heal you.
*see other Bible verses on forgiveness
One of the causes of “offense” is due to misunderstanding, which we all quickly prejudge. There are times I reflect on my parents fighting and it’s due to the “failure to communicate” (see “Failure to Communicate”-song I wrote). Can you relate? Feel free to share below…
For those that haven’t met me yet or haven’t encountered any offense from me…yet! 😉 I’m sure there are others that might’ve hurt you in various ways (e.g. abuse). Unfortunately, you might not ever get them to forgive you. However, God (Heavenly Father) knows and I encourage you to go to Him for healing of your past hurts.
I’ll share some of my forgiveness stories:
Back in high school, a former “friend” of mine wanted to befriend me after “ignoring” me most of the later years of “middle school”. Not being a Christian at the time, I wouldn’t forgive him and shun him away. Month later, he died in a head-on-collision car accident (visiting his biological Mom all the way in Colorado). I was torn in pieces when I heard the news and wished I reconciled with him. Please don’t make the dumbest mistake as I did, reconcile with those that has hurt you before it’s too late.
During my college and post-college years, I was interested in learning more about WWII (more of the Pacific arena) due to my family’s history (grandfather got capture by the Japanese and survived as a cook and great-grandfather was presumably killed as he never returned home when scoping the vicinity for any Japanese solders). As I read more books of the horrific atrocities the Japanese did in the Philippines and elsewhere, my heart towards the Japanese grew with more hate :(.. Well, God seems to try to soften my heart by bringing Japanese students to the college I attended. Then He brought them to be my renters in the house I owned. My last renter caught me watching some WWII footage of Japan’s horrific treatment. I tried to turned it off, but he saw it and we ended up having a deep conversation. He ended up asking forgiveness for what his ancestors did. I told him no worries, but in my heart-I felt some more compassion for him and the Japanese people overall.
Lastly, this is between me and my Heavenly Father-I gave my life to Christ my freshmen year in college. I did it after hearing a testimony of this speaker at a local church in Morris. This grabbed my heart and got me off my seat to go to the front (alter) and asked God to forgive me all of my sins. That was just the beginning and still in the journey of my faith (still sinning, but trying to sin-less as I grow in my personal relationship with my “Heavenly Dad” :)..
Above are just summaries of some of my stories on forgiveness-repentance. I’ll be glad to share more, but would love to hear yours first. I would love to disclose and be open/transparent/honest with you with my personal challenges-struggles as “we” can help each other in this journey of forgiveness with the “limited uncertain” time we have on this earth…

Dream of a Glimpse of Hell
When I was a kid, I loved watching “horror” films with neighborhood friends. Unfortunately, all that “negative” visual movie scenes produced some nightmares and fear (e.g. I would be afraid of the dark, like going upstairs when the lights were off in the house). However, when I was sick (e.g. flu), I would somehow have these repetitive dreams:
“I was in this “hot, dark, red-lava-like, etc..” place somewhere underground or some cave. I would see these “non-human” shape creatures/figures all around. I would be sweating and scared. “
I would get these same dreams almost every time I was “sick”. It wasn’t just movies too. I had a family background and personal (sinful) lifestyle that had some cultural practices that opened doors to “demonic” strongholds, which I’ll share later. When I became a Christian (e.g. saved, see http://testimony.goodnewseverybody.com/ ) in my early years of college, I would become more knowledgeable about “good” and “evil”. I look back and feel that these dreams were just a “glimpse of hell” after studying the Bible (see What Does the Bible Say About Hell? – OpenBible.info)
I had a dream that I can still remember to this day when I was in college. A friend from church invited me to do a tape recording of his radio show “Living Waters”. This particular show, we were going to do a story of “Hell”. I was to play a guy who goes to “Hell” and was given a script prior to our rehearsals on a Saturday morning. Well, I studied and practiced it the night before. That evening, I would have a dream of a glimpse of “Hell”. I was in my bed and felt my jaw locked together. I tried to physically open it, but I couldn’t. I then woke (in my dream still) -up and saw a demon on the corner of my bed. Remembering from Scripture, I told “it” to go away in “Jesus’ name”. Through this, I was able to open my jaw. I then woke-up from my dream and was sweating. That day, I was able to get ready for rehearsals for this skit as I had this personal experience of “Hell”…(see Deceiver)
I can testify now that I don’t have any nightmares as I’ve learned to practice a more “safer” (Biblical, Christ-like *disclaimer: I’m not perfect) lifestyle from the darkness out in our society. What you feed your mind, you’ll reap. I encourage you to seek God on this particular lifestyle.

Smaller Jewish groups include the Georgian Jews and Mountain Jews from the Caucasus; Indian Jews including the Bene Israel, Bnei Menashe, Cochin Jews and Bene Ephraim; the Romaniotes of Greece; the ancient Italian Jewish community; the Teimanim from the Yemen; various African Jews, including most numerously the Beta Israel of Ethiopia; the Bukharan Jews of Central Asia; and Chinese Jews, most notably the Kaifeng Jews, as well as various other distinct but now extinct communities.
The divisions between all these groups are rough and their boundaries aren’t solid. The Mizrahim for example, are a heterogeneous collection of North African and Middle Eastern Jewish communities which are often as unrelated to each other as they are to any of the earlier mentioned Jewish groups. In modern usage, however, the Mizrahim are also termed Sephardi due to similar styles of liturgy, despite independent evolutions from Sephardim proper. Thus, among Mizrahim there are Iranian Jews, Iraqi Jews, Egyptian Jews, Sudanese Jews, Tunisian Jews, Algerian Jews, Moroccan Jews, Lebanese Jews, Kurdish Jews, Libyan Jews, Syrian Jews, and various others. The Yemenite Jews (“Teimanim”) from Yemen are sometimes included, although their style of liturgy is unique and they differ in respect to the admixture found among them to that found in Mizrahim

Last weekend during a conference “Storm the Planet Returns”) at my local church, a friend shared about a “friend of ours” that was just taken to the ER. She told it was pretty serious and thinks he might not make it. I didn’t bother to ask the medical condition as it didn’t matter to me. I then did a quick prayer for our friend and I non-verbally asked that God will just “heal” him and give some added time for me to see him.
The following day, I got an update via text that he was in the hospital and encouraged me to visit him. I was getting ready for church service (also 2nd session of the conference) and did a quick prayer for our friend, so I can visit him afterwards. I just had some faith and trusted God that He’ll give our friend some extra time for me to visit him later on.
During the service, one of the speakers (Jennifer) shared how we need to be the “pastor” (a.k.a. “church body ministry”) to the people around us. I thought of the people I work with (including my particular “friend”). Then after towards the end of the service, one of the leaders (Spencer) in our local congregation gave an invitation to come up for prayer (e.g. healing). I thought it was my cue to leave early and head to the hospital to visit our “friend”.
When I got to the hospital..
..and was praying as I was riding my bike there, I went over to his bed side and smiled. He looked very weak and frail. The nurse (from the group home) left, so I took that time time to pray for him and shared with him some worship music that I recorded from our church service…
…I would repeat some of the songs that was sung at church..
..as I was declaring it with faith for my friend.!
After awhile, my “friend” would grab my hand hard and tight. I noticed some increase strength..praise the Lord!
I would get a call from another pastor friend about how he got a call from a lady in charge of the group home about “my” friend that lives there. I told him a friend and I already visited him. He ended up visiting “our” friend and told me that he looks good, which I replied thanks to the many prayers! I would visit him again that day (Monday the 21st) just to see how he’s doing and would hear “good news” that he’ll be coming “home” in hospice environment.
Just this past Saturday (26th), I went to visit him at “home” and would encourage him by praying for him again. I also turned on his room radio, which it was already set to the local Christian station (Praise FM 101.5 FM/103.9 FM). I then started to sing this song that came to my mind (“You Are Not Alone“) and would do a parody with faith-building encouraging words.
Got any personal stories/testimonies, feedback, comments, suggestions, etc.. regarding any of the content above? Would love to hear some to encourage others in similar situations as we are “not” alone!

I decided to write to this blog on this particular topic after many talks with transvestites. I was always curious how one became one and found some similar backgrounds. I met an individual that told me he lived with a single mom. Her mother wished she had a daughter and never got one, so she would dressed him as a girl all the time. This repeated occurrence just gave him that identity desire to be a girl. There are other stories, but will tell them later as time comes, so stay tune…
Transsexual Returns to Original Gender After Relationship With Christ
By Jeff Schapiro, Christian Post Reporter
January 11, 2012|4:43 pm
“….When he was only about five years old, Heyer’s grandmother began to dress him as if he were a girl and even made a dress just for him. The result was a very confused little boy. “I look at it today as being pretty abusive. While it seemed very benign at the time, and maybe even playful, I can see today…that it was really abusive to my psyche,” he told The Christian Post on Wednesday….
…Heyer’s uncle viewed the situation with his grandmother as a joke, and sexually molested him when he was still young.
..By his early teenage years, the fantasy had only grown. He adopted the female name Andrea West, and began cross dressing. At age 15, he also began learning about Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) and, although he struggled against his desire to be female, he says those feelings were like a radio playing in his head that he just couldn’t turn off….
“While I didn’t want to be going down this pathway I seemed to be on this track that I couldn’t interrupt, stop or change,” he recalled. “But I wasn’t homosexual. I was having dates with girls, I never felt any desire to have relationships with men, so from the standpoint of my sexuality I was always heterosexual.”
“That I think, too, is one of the…misleading factors. Most people consider transgenders to be homosexual and, from my experience…98 to 99 percent of the people who contact me are not homosexual…It’s really a gender identity issue, not a sexual preference issue.”…
..He and his wife split after 17 years of marriage, and he lost his job when he began making the physical transformation into becoming a woman. He got breast implants, began taking hormones, had electrolysis to reduce the hair on his face, and he had his genitals removed.
“You’re not born transgender, something happens in your childhood that causes you to not want to be who you are…And today the only thing that is…socially acceptable is calling yourself a transgender,” he said.
Not all his church experiences were bad, however. He found a church that welcomed him in, even with the knowledge of what his struggle was. The pastor of that church told him, “Our job is to love you and it’s God’s job to transform you.”
“The church, what it did for me was it allowed me to really get to the point where I asked the Lord for forgiveness. I began to pray for forgiveness. And I realized that the critical point is understanding that you can accept Jesus Christ, but there’s a point where that doesn’t become real…until you’re walking with Christ,” he said….
Testimony of a transgender & bisexual, now a servant of God!
“Published on Aug 15, 2013
God loves everyone and sees every sin equal. God does not hate people. He loves us! What you see the bad stuff in the media is not God. God loves us all and yes! He disapproves of having relationships between two mans and between two woman. But it does not mean he does not love you or understands your difficulties! He offers his salvation to all and will guide you!
This movie is for educational purposes and testimony, I have not made this video. All credit goes to God for helping us and letting us give testimonies of his Glory, love and power.”
A transformed transsexual from the-new-way.org
“…“My appearance became increasingly feminine as the months passed. Silicone injections added to my feminine good looks. But I was miserable inside.”
My story begins in a small Louisiana town on August 15, 1936, when I was born. My father was a river boat pilot and drank a lot. I was always afraid of him, as he would come home late at night, yelling and breaking things. I began to build a fantasy world all my own. I would dream about all the beautiful women in the movies Mother took me to see on weekends. I wanted to be a girl, but I was a boy.
Mother always worked. I used to go to her room when she was away and put on her dresses, earrings, lipstick and perfume. One day she came home early and caught me. “Don’t ever let me catch you doing this again!” she yelled. She whipped me, screaming, “You’re a boy, you’re a boy!” She ripped the earrings off and threw them on the dressing table. I ran from the house crying.
I was afraid to play with boys. They called me “sissy” and “Momma’s boy”. School was the worst time of all. The other boys didn’t want me around and called me ugly names. There were a few girls I could play with, but more and more, I played by myself, with my movie idols…
.. I decided that a sex-change operation was the answer to my feelings of dissatisfaction and phoned a plastic surgeon in New York. We set an appointment for the first stage of surgery —castration. I’ll never forget the antiseptic smell of the operating room. The surgery was done with local anesthetic, but even the drugs injected with 6-inch needles couldn’t kill the dreadful pain of the operation. It was the most dreadful experience of my life…
“Perry, I’m saved. I’ve got Jesus in my heart. I feel wonderful!” He witnessed to me every chance he got for the next year. Finally I agreed to go to church with him. Everything was strange to me, but I felt something I had never experienced in my life. These people really loved each other. I could feel it. .
I’m curious why “you” came to this particular blog. Please feel free to personally contact me or share below. Do you struggle with any sexual-gender identity? What’s your story? Can you related to any of the stories above?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”–2 Corinthians 5:17
Above is a beautiful sister-in-Christ name Jamie W. from Pennsylvania. I met her through an online chat community in mid-June and she shared an amazing testimony on how our Heavenly Father can make a “new creation”. Her story started before she came to this world as an infant. Her mom was about to abort her because of a health medical issue, but circumstances changed that as God hand another plan. She was born premature and survived!
“I was born blind had a heart murmur leading to surgery and my brain was not fully developed as most kids should be. In school I struggled and could not be in regular classes, but IEP classes (meaning Individual Educational Plan). I graduated from those classes at the age of 15 at the top of my class and could soon attend classes with regular kids. I was so happy for myself and thanked God. I just want people to know that whatever storm you go through in life there is a God and His son Jesus Christ and they will never harm you or leave you but Love you even harder and for people to never give up.”-Jamie
What would you do as a mother if you found out the baby your carrying in your womb has a birth defect? What would you do?
God had a plan for her, which she ended up coming out to this world as a gift to the people around her. That wasn’t the only barrier in her life that she faced. At a young age, she was raped by an individual…
“…well before I was raped I was saving myself for my future husband. I prayed that I would wait to be intimate with someone until I married. But being raped at 18 shattered everything. I was than depressed, felt ashamed, and unworthy. I did really bad in school and could not hold any friendships or relationships. I kept meeting the wrong guys and putting myself in bad relationships that were not healthy just physically abusive and verbally. I felt the lowest when it came to my family and felt like I let my family down. I started doing drugs and drinking. The other thing that made me not just end it all and commit suicide was the love of God and just not giving up on life because I did not want to disappoint God. I always loved God but kept going into a downward spiral. Still attending church and still reading and praying asking God to heal me and forgive me.”
What is it like to be raped? How do you deal with it?
“My first husband Quay was abusive and killed my pet dog and cat he also cheated on me I was young and naive I was 19 at the time and knew I have to leave and get out. I divorced him feeling like I failed in life again.
I than started working a lot with the elderly and kids as well and that filled a void in my heart so much because I knew I was helping others but deep down in side I was screaming for more help. Help for me.”
This obstacle in life didn’t stopped her as she continued to live her life for His glory.
“Than at 25 I met my husband Vincent and we both clicked immediately. He came from a dysfunctional home and was adopted, so I could feel his pain. I never knew my real dad as my mom left him when i was 3, so I could feel his pain. I knew Vincent was a blessing from God and we both helped each other in our healing process.”
Jamie’s story is one of many out there that God is not finish with yet. There still will be challenges for her and others walking in faith, but with the fellowship of the bigger family in Christ we will finish the “race” in this life as we all look forward to eternity. Please feel free to share your comments or personal stories down below to encourage each there-knowing we are not alone in this “battle”!

I just watched this “telecast” (“Stepping-Up National Men’s Simulcast/a>) via online with a groupit of 30+ guys at a local church in town (Morris Minnesota), which several churches got together yesterday early on a summer Saturday morning (8a-12p). I thought it was worth my time as we got equipped to become “better” men to fulfill God’s purpose or calling in each of our lives. What is “our” purpose?..

From the ashes of Sept. 11 arise the manly virtues. OPINION
October 12, 2001 By PEGGY NOONAN online.wsj.com
“…I believe this quite literally. But then I am experiencing Sept. 11 not as a political event but as a spiritual event.
And, of course, a cultural one, which gets me to my topic.
It is not only that God is back, but that men are back. A certain style of manliness is once again being honored and celebrated in our country since Sept. 11. You might say it suddenly emerged from the rubble of the past quarter century, and emerged when a certain kind of man came forth to get our great country out of the fix it was in.
I am speaking of masculine men, men who push things and pull things and haul things and build things, men who charge up the stairs in a hundred pounds of gear and tell everyone else where to go to be safe. Men who are welders, who do construction, men who are cops and firemen. They are all of them, one way or another, the men who put the fire out, the men who are digging the rubble out, and the men who will build whatever takes its place.
“…faithful to his wife (see marriage, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. 5 (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. 7 He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap…
One of the questions that was asked during a video was-“When does a boy become a “real” man?

Michael Vick shares first-ever testimony, POSTED Saturday, Feb. 6. bpnews.net
“Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy listens while a fan congratulates Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick on turning his life around after spending 23 months in Leavenworth Prison for dog-fighting. Dungy told the Super Bowl Prayer Breakfast earlier that he and Vick spoke at least once a week during Vick’s incarceration. ..
New International Version (NIV)
Doing Good for the Sake of the Gospel
“2 You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine. 2 Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
…6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us. ..
