There is a correct order to show your children the Star Wars movies October 24, 2014 theweek.com
“…Let’s say you grew up watching the Star Wars trilogy, then had children sometime after 1999, when George Lucas started releasing the prequels.
When your kids are old enough, what order should they watch the films in? The order they were released — Star Wars (A New Hope) (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983), then The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002), and Revenge of the Sith (2005)? Or the order the events happened in the Star Wars universe: Phantom Menace (I), Attack of the Clones (II), Revenge of the Sith (III), New Hope (IV), Empire Strikes Back (V), and Return of the Jedi (VI)?
Rod Hilton, a computer programmer in Colorado, has given this a lot of thought, and he probably has the best solution. His (correct) instinct is to start with New Hope (IV), because if you start with Phantom Menace (I) you lose the essential shock of learning Luke’s parentage in Empire Strikes Back. But he also wants to end on a high note — so, none of the prequels. Here’s Hilton’s “Machete Order,” named after his blog, Absolutely No Machete Juggling:
Next time you want to introduce someone to Star Wars for the first time, watch the films with them in this order: IV, V, II, III, VI…”

This is a rare chance to see these three “Star Wars” actors in their younger days, prior to the time when “super stardom” enveloped the trio.
This show was taped at Mike Douglas’ Philadelphia studios on July 20, 1977.

It’s Never Too Late for Redemption
“At the very end of The Return of the Jedi, just when it seems that all hope is lost, something incredible happens. Darth Vader, the longstanding antagonist of the series, sacrifices himself to save his son and defeat the emperor. Vader had believed he was too far gone to ever find redemption. He had done so many terrible things, betrayed so many people. How could he ever be forgiven?
Luke, on the other hand (no pun intended), never lost faith in Vader. In fact, he believed so strongly he was willing to pay the ultimate price for his forgiveness. There are many people like Vadar who look back on their mistakes and think it’s too late, but they are wrong. I doesn’t matter how far we’ve strayed or how mangled we’ve become, Jesus gave his life so that we could be forgiven (John 3:16). God doesn’t need to save you, He already has…”

“…On the flip side, there is also a “dark side” which is easier to tap into because anger, fear, and aggression all lead to it. Only by staying calm, patient and passive can one avoid turning to the dark side. Obviously we need to teach our kids what the Bible has to say about all of this. We need to teach them that there is a real force and His name is Jesus Christ and in fact all things were created by Him (John 1:3; John 1:10) and through Him all things truly consist (Colossians 1:17)! Rogue One review: this is the first Star Wars movie to acknowledge the whole franchise is about war Updated by Todd VanDerWerff@tvoti Dec 16, 2016, 11:14am EST vox.com
It’s often incoherent and messy. But it’s also beautiful and has a strong central theme.
“..But if the film is politically relevant, it’s only accidentally so, not intentionally. I say that not just because Rogue One was completed long before Donald Trump’s election or even Brexit, but because Edwards uses a kind of scattershot approach to political content in his films — he’ll give you just enough of an idea of what he’s going for, but he’s uninterested in pushing any further than that.
An early shot in Rogue One features Stormtroopers patrolling the streets of a city rife with tension between various factions, rolling around in a tank. At various moments, it calls to mind the US occupation of Iraq and police militarization of American cities. But it’s not entirely clear whether Edwards has thought about what these similarities might mean in the larger tapestry of Rogue One beyond “Do you get this reference?” It’s political commentary as Family Guy joke…”

Scientific Benefits of Meditation – 76 things you might be missing out on By Giovanni liveanddare.com

Some effects, such as increased compassion and social bonding, are more salient as a result of specific meditation techniques (such as loving-kindness, which is a Buddhist meditation). Former Trappist monk James Finley talks about the spiritual benefits of contemplative practice for Christians.
“…It’s not that prayer isn’t enough. God has made the human heart in such a way that only God will do. And the God-given longing for God is fulfilled in a oneness with God in which nothing short of that oneness is enough. There’s a kind of deep, sincere ache within the heart. It prays, and the prayer actually intensifies or deepens a longing for oneness with God beyond the words of the prayer and also beyond the emotions and the feelings that can come up in the consolations of prayer. Nothing is enough; only God is enough. And that’s the mystical quest really, that’s the contemplative theme…”

Sal: One of the practices I do when I meditate at night before going to bed is “reflecting” on all the “good”/positives (e.g. song “Count Your Blessings (instead of sheep)” from “White Christmas”) that happened to me today, which is my way to show how grateful I’m blessed by my Heavenly Father…see more!
What do you like to do to “keep positive”?
Meditating On The Word Of God Aired On 31 Jul 2015 intouch.org
“..but are we meditating on God’s Word? And do we even know what this means? When the Lord called Joshua to lead Israel after Moses’ death, He told him, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it” (Josh. 1:8). The Lord wanted to fill Joshua’s heart with the Word so he would know precisely what to do and how to lead the people according to God’s standards and commands. And that’s exactly what He wants to do in our lives as well. If we’ll meditate on Scripture, the Lord will unfold for us His truths and instructions. ..”
Sal: Last month or so, I was challenged by a close friend of mine to spend a quiet time with God for 2 hours at least once a week. I’ve done this 3 of the last 4 weeks so far and have seen the benefits. I’m slowly growing in this, so feel free to check my blogs for updates. 2 hours is really long for me, so what I did is just 1 hour without the computer and 1 hour with the computer writing my thoughts or doing “strictly” God stuff for the next hour.
Unfortunately, we all don’t have an hour or two due to our busy lives. When I get up some mornings and don’t have time. I try to read a verse (instead of a chapter) only in my Bible or even from my social network feeds (@goodnewseverybodycom in #instagram). The key thing is , try to memorize it (repeat it 3x a day). I would repeat (Galatians 5) “fruits of the spirit” daily before (while riding my bike or driving to work) going to work. Music is a great way to memorize, which I sing some particular Scriptures daily (e.g. #Lordsprayer) or a particular chorus line in a song from church (e.g. “Come & let your presence fill this..”) repeatedly in my mind or out loud in prayer.
What are some other ways? Feel free to share below…

Dr. Lorin Roche, a meditation teacher, says a major problem arises from the way meditators interpret Buddhist and Hindu teachings. He points out that meditation techniques that encourage detachment from the world were intended only for monks and nuns. He has spent thirty years doing interviews with people who meditate regularly and says many were depressed. He says they have tried to detach themselves from their desires, their loves, and their passion. “Depression is a natural result of loss, and if you internalize teachings that poison you against the world, then of course you will become depressed.”
The Dalai Lama has said that Eastern forms of meditation have to be handled carefully: “Westerners who proceed too quickly to deep meditation should learn more about Eastern traditions and get better training than they usually do. Otherwise, certain physical or mental difficulties appear.”..
Dangerous Meditations By Douglas Groothuis/ November 1, 2004 christianitytoday.com
What harm is there in achieving a higher state of consciousness through meditation?
“..The biblical worldview is completely at odds with the pantheistic concepts driving Eastern meditation. We are not one with an impersonal absolute being that is called “God.” Rather, we are estranged from the true personal God because of our “true moral guilt,” as Francis Schaeffer says.
No amount of chanting, breathing, visualizing, or physical contortions will melt away the sin that separates us from the Lord of the cosmos—however “peaceful” these practices may feel. Moreover, Paul warns that “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:14). “Pleasant” experiences may be portals to peril. Even yoga teachers warn that yoga may open one up to spiritual and physical maladies.
The answer to our plight is not found in some “higher level of consciousness” (really a deceptive state of mind), but in placing our faith in the unmatched achievements of Jesus Christ on our behalf. If it were possible to find enlightenment within, God would not have sent “his one and only Son” (John 3:16) to die on the Cross for our sins in order to give us new life and hope for eternity through Christ’s resurrection. We cannot raise ourselves from the dead.
The biblical concept of prayer assumes that rational and meaningful communication between God and humans is possible. There is no summons to suspend rational judgment even when prayer through the Holy Spirit is “with groans that words cannot express” (Rom. 8:26). Nor should we repeat words meaninglessly to induce a trance (Matt. 6:7)…”

A “friend” got “theological” with me this past weekend over the holidays. He asked, why this church doesn’t allow us to “practice” our old ways (e.g. shamanism, see-> Deuteronomy 18). I then thought about my former Catholic up-bringing. I didn’t think about it much when I was growing-up, but friends in college would question some of the “theological” practices (e.g. worship Mary, statues/idols in the sanctuary, priests are called “father, etc…). It’s not just “religious” stuff, but just “old” ways in our “sinful” lifestyle of the past (e.g. drunkeness or any other addictions that controlled/slaved you in bondage, etc…) that prevented one to a “personal relationship” with the Heavenly Father.
All That’s Inside -Jon Thurlow (Lyrics)
“Uploaded on Feb 19, 2011
(Let there be) no reservations, no walls
But just an open door in my heart for You
I want to give all that’s inside of my heart
I want to give all that’s inside of my heart to You
Everything else is fading away
Only love (only love) only love remains (only love remains)
It’s not the riches, it’s not the fame
It’s not the power, it’s not my name
Only love (only love) only love (only love) only love (only love)
So take the same love that’s inside Your heart
And put that same love deep inside of me
Everything else, everything else,
Everything else is fading (only love remains)”

I decided to do a blog on an on-going “debate able” topic that was shared at my local church yesterday morning. It cleared up a lot of questions…
Mythology & Beliefs: Artemis (Diana)
In Greek and Roman Mythology, Artemis (Diana) was the goddess of moon; a huntress and the twin sister of Apollo.
The Role of Women in the Church from truthortradition.com
“…We are going to understand them properly. To understand these verses in 1 Timothy chapter two properly, and indeed to understand any verse in the Bible properly, you have to have some idea of cultural context in which this verse was written. …
..That is not at all what is going on here. Again, I would like to say that it is because of misunderstanding verses like these that many women have walked away from God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and many women have turned to other religions, ungodliness, or turned against God because they are bitter and upset.
…Other women are in the Church and they have great ministries, but they are sitting not doing anything particularly because they do not want to offend God out of disobedience. They do not want to go against what they think He wants them to do. Sometimes, too, other men and other women jump on women if they try and get involved. Some of this comes from the fact that we misunderstand these verses…
If you look around at church services, and of course, all kinds of Christian organizations do surveys, and you should know that on any given Sunday more than half of the people in churches are women. That is right, more than half of the people in churches are women; yet, in many cases, their ministries have been restricted and constricted because of people who do not understand the text. This verse is a good one.
1 Timothy 2:11
A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
Right away we are thinking, “Women are way down there on the totem pole with God.” The first thing that we need to point out here is about the culture. When Paul was writing to Timothy, where was he? Where was Timothy? 1 Timothy Chapter 1, verse 3—“As I urged you [Timothy] when I [Paul] went into Macedonia,” Macedonia is Northern Greece, so Paul here left for Northern Greece. Paul says, “When I urged you, when I went into Northern Greece [Macedonia] stay there in Ephesus.” Now we know where Timothy is. He is in Ephesus….
…The boys are already learning without causing a disturbance and in submission, if you will, quietness and full submission. So now what is Paul saying here? He is saying, “a women should learn in quietness and full submission.” If I were to put this into a modern English understanding so that the average street Christian could understand it, I would say, “a women should learn just like the men do, in quietness and full submission.”…
1 Timothy 2:12 and 13
I do not permit a woman to teach or have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was first formed then Eve.
…Well, we have got two distinct strains of teaching that I want to go into today. One of those is the ancient mythology of the time. Part of the ancient mythology that Timothy was dealing with was that the original creator of the heaven and the earth was a goddess, not a god. That it was not really a creator but a creatress. That the original creatress of the universe, this goddess, was the supreme god and all deities were underneath her….
..”Most Gnostic accounts show Eve as pre-existing Adam. In one account, she’s actually the hermaphrodite from whom Adam is drawn.”…
Gnostics were opposed to childbearing—not every Gnostic, but many Gnostics were opposed to childbearing. Why? Because when you became pregnant, then what happened is that you created another body. But where did the soul come from? Where did that life spark come from? Well, that life spark had to come from the true God—way up there at the top, so that what happens is that you, through your ignorance in childbearing, have caused a piece to break off the true God, if you will, so many of the Gnostics believe that women could not ascend back to the true God until they gathered up all the sparks, if you will, or pieces that they were responsible for breaking off the real God. On page 175 the Kreigers’ write:…
The word silent is the word hesuchia, and it means tranquil. She is not to cause a disturbance.
1 Timothy 2:13
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Now the problem in verse 12 is the phrase “have authority over.” This is the Greek word “authentane.” Authentane is translated in every version that I have looked at something like, “have authority over, dominion over, not to usurp authority from.” This is the way authentane is usually handled. In deference to many people who have tried to study these verses on their own, I will say that it has been very difficult to get to the truth….
…Now, if you see where this is flowing, what I want to do at this point is I want to anchor in the part about “teach.”
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority…
However, if teach and another word are linked in your understanding, then I can forbid one thing. Let me make this clearer. If I say to you, “I do not permit you to teach or discuss higher mathematics.” In that phrase in English, I am not saying that you cannot teach and you cannot discuss higher mathematics as in two separate things. I am saying you cannot teach or discuss higher mathematics. You can go out and teach something else. You can discuss something else, but you cannot teach or discuss higher mathematics….
Paul and Women Teachers:
Understanding 1Timothy, Chapters 1 & 2
By Dianne D. McDonnell from churchofgoddfw.com
“….What was Ephesus like?
It is helpful to understand the setting. Ephesus was a wealthy Asian city that revolved around the massive Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Understanding the religion of Artemis, also known as Diana, is very important in understanding the words Paul writes. Notice in the quotation below that Artemis, a fertility goddess, was believed to protect women during childbirth.
“‘Artemis of the Ephesians’ was not a Greek divinity, but Asiatic. This is shown by the fact that eunuchs were employed in her worship– a practice quite foreign to Greek ideas. She was not regarded as a virgin but as mother and foster-mother, as is clearly shown by the multitude of breasts in the rude effigy. She was undoubtedly a representative of the same power presiding over conception and birth that was adored in Palestine under the name Ashtoreth. Her worship, frantic and fanatical after the manner of Asia, was traced back to the Amazons. Her temple at Ephesus was one of the wonders of the world, but its great glory was the ‘image which fell down from heaven’ (Acts 19:35).” New Unger’s Bible Dictionary published by Moody Press of Chicago, Illinois, 1988. …
Myths and Genealogies
…The Amazons are believed by some historians to have been real women whose exploits were magnified into myth. These Amazons are reported to have believed they were not only equal to men, but far superior to men! Therefore, proponents of the Amazons’ goddess Artemis taught female superiority, and this background caused marital problems for the Christian couples of Ephesus! Paul addresses this problem in Ephesians 5:22 as he urges wives to defer to their Christian husbands. Many Ephesian women were told tales of Amazon battles and exploits in their pre-Christian days and taught that they were descended from Amazons– a superior female race! This would explain the false teachers devoting themselves to “myths and endless genealogies” mentioned in 1Tim 1:4. The long genealogies linked them to their Amazon predecessors, whom they believed to be real people that founded Ephesus. Paul was convinced that they were mythological. ..”

THE VARIOUS VERSIONS OF
THE WICKER MAN from steve-p.org
“… The community’s crops have failed and the islanders want Howie as a human sacrifice to appease their gods and ensure bountiful harvests in the future. The ultimate point the film was to make is this – what does Howie’s religion (albeit a more mainstream one than the islanders’) actually count for if he is alone in a sea of different beliefs? Unless deities actually exist, the winner in a conflict of religions is simply the one that has the muscle to enforce his doctrine….
The Wicker Man (2006) , from imdb.com
“…Edward travels to the private island of Summerisle, where Willow lives in an odd community that plant fruits, and she reveals that Rowan is actually their daughter. Along his investigation with the hostile and unhelpful dwellers, Edward discloses that the locals are pagans, practicing old rituals to improve their harvest, and Rowan is probably alive and being prepared to be sacrificed. When he locates the girl, he finds also the dark truth about the wicker man. ..

I was driving through this rainy afternoon in this small rural college town and thought about this blog topic after reflecting on some life circumstances. I was pondering on a recent article online that was shown on facebook a lot on “percentage of Americans identifying being Christian has gone down over the years”-something like this. Anyways, I thought about all the people I’ve met that has come and go at my local church, campus ministries during my early Christian walk, etc… The number one “issue” that seem to get people “to leave” church is being “offended” (see my blog on this life challenge).
If you are one of the many people, like me, that have been offended by “the church”…please continue to read. I think “we all” have been offended by someone in our lives so far. But, what makes us forgive and forget “certain individuals”. Why not “everybody”? Do we pick and choose “who to forgive”?
Here is my personal tip on “How I get along with everybody” (it doesn’t meant that “everybody” gets along with me)? It’s one of the best “life advice” my earthly father gave me growing-up, which is “look at the positive of everybody instead of that “one” or “more” negative experience”. We tend to forget the “good” side of everybody that we don’t get along with or have gotten offended. Why is that? What keeps me “keeping positive” is reading my Heavenly Father’s Word (Bible) morning and evening.
For example, I’ve had many situations when I got offended by someone, but I “chose” to forgive them because of a verse that I read previously from the Bible. If you have hard time to “forgive” someone that “offended” you no matter how “bad” it is, try to remember at least “one good-thing” about that person and ask God to help you to “forgive” those that wronged you.
Lastly, if your a person that don’t consider yourself a Christian because of various reasons (e.g. turned away from God, different religion/faith, no belief, etc…). I challenged you to go to God and ask Him your questions about faith. ..
Do you have any other tips that you would like to share to help others in our similar situations? Please share as “we” all can work together to build that peace and reconciliation with our family, friends, workplace, community, region, and world!

Is it a religion?
Religion is a “man-made” institutions like school, government, etc.. Anything “made” by man is “not” perfect, which we will always find something “wrong” in it. Thus, there is corruption (e.g. violence, abuse, etc..) in schools, government, etc.. We then shouldn’t give our 100% trust and total dependence on any of these institutions. Who can we trust then?
Is it violent?
Religion has caused many wars. Jesus taught..
“””Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”–Matthew 26:52

GoodnewsEverybody.com Ministry: Healing
After coming to a growing personal relationship with Jesus, I learned more of his love and healing. The words in the Bible came to life on healing more and more.
I remembered growing-up, I would always stare at this “mark” whenever I take my clothes off. It kind of bothered me. I didn’t like taking my shirt off in public (e.g.swimming) because I got tired of people asking me “what is that or what happened?”. I began to joke with a response as I got older by saying, “I got stabbed during a gang find growing-up in the cities”. They would respond with their eyes wide and mouth open with shock. I then would start laughing telling them the real truth after-he he! I began to accept this “mark” this as I got older and thank God for the success of this “Appendicities” surgery at age 3. God had a plan, which my mom repeatedly that I survived w/my name “Salvador” or “Savior” (in Spanish).
Growing-up as a little kid (still today), I would get cuts and bruises-calling it an owe! I got a band aid or some rubbing alcohol to help heal the wound. Well, those “owes” become more serious when you get older and it takes more than those overthecountertop medicines.
It was my freshmen year at UMM when I went skiing with some international students at Andes Tower Hills. I got injured from making a “stupid” mistake…more
I remembered watching all those movies of Jesus and admired when he healed all types of people. Well, I believe God could heal me and my faith grew after the doctor told me that I didn’t break anything after an x-ray…Praise God!
I can share countless stories of God’s healing because I called out to Him. I try to first call to Him before I seek actual physical medical help to show my trust in Him. Then I ask for wisdom on what to do, which He tells me at times to seek a physical doctor. Not only physical healing, but emotional healing of all sorts of issues in daily life.
I personally recommend of reading God’s word, which is better then over the counter/prescription drugs (too many side effects). Try it, you never know what may happen, but read it (some verses from Luke is reccomended as the author was a physician/doctor)in faith and expectations!

Testimony of the Power of Prayer of Mother and church group, joshua_24_15 instagram.com 1.14.17
joshua_24_15So I baked an amazing strawberry🍓 cheese cake🎂😋for my heart, my brother👫😙.On the 12th of Jan, two decades+few years back- God👑 blessed my Mum😙 and Dadda😙 with a beautiful baby boy👶😙.2 bad he didn’t get any of my cake🎂😏,since he was out😒with his mrs😙the whole day.So that took care of all my meals😉😋 He has the most beautifully #testimony .God👑 literally pulled him out of the shadow of
valley of death
When he was 3months old he had a lot of fever and cough. The #baby cried all the time.So Mum and Dadda took him to our family Dr who is my Mum’s brother in law.He asked my parents to a lot of test and they were so confused at why so many tests for fever and cough. The test results came and the pediatrician and other experts straight told them we will try a few things but the baby will not survive more than 15days. He had the worst blood culture, like now the hemoglobin is 14,in the next few mins it would drop down to 3.His lung had patch, his liver was failing, his pancreas weren’t functioning
My parents- their world fell apart. Soon the baby was put on heavy medication.Drs would pierce him tiny legs with syringes 3 times a day.To a point where the legs were swollen so much, that they started piercing his lil hands. After 3 days or so his body was full of knots. The drs said none of the medicines were working & he would die eventually of multiple organ failure+internal bleeding
Now my Mum is a woman of faith & prayer. She prayed let your will be done Father. If my child lives-we all will serve you as long as we live & if he doesn’t we will still serve you.She went to see our #church pastor’s home & on their wall was Isa 53:5,Ps 118:6.She was convinced it was for her baby, the ans to her constant pleading and prayers. She took my bro home, got him off every medicine & put him back on regular feed.Next she called her women’s prayer group(Mum runs a housegroup for the poor & the under privileged-raising money for widows & their kids). The #women in her group were the most simple ladies you’ll know like maids-very poor, uneducated yet very humble & deeply rooted in #God .Cont⤵
#Jesus #Christ #Yeshua #Yahweh #Hebrews #Jews #Relationship #sin #sinner #Bible #mothers
joshua_24_15All of them fasted and prayed and declared God has healed the baby.
15days were up. And the pediatrician and experts who where my uncle’s colleagues came to visit my parents to console them since they thought the baby is dead. But to their surprise the baby was not only alive but looked healthy and was so fair and not purplish blue(His skin was also affected because of the medication). They requested my parents to do the tests again because, him being alive was impossible and unbelievable. All the tests very perfect. Every organ was ok and the patch and knots had disappeared. Nothing was wrong with the baby plus he had gained 3 pounds. The reports looked like nothing was ever wrong.
So this is for all you Mum’s out there. Look to God. He loves you and your children. Do not trust the facts of the world, live by faith in Christ. There are two truths, 1- that the world shows you but there is another truth i.e- what the word of God says. He can change every unfortunate report but no one can his report. You are what the word of God says you are. He has the final say!

Kathryn Kuhlman healings and miracles
“..The world called me a fool for having given my entire life to One whom I’ve never seen. I know exactly what I’m going to say when I stand in His presence. When I look upon that wonderful face of Jesus, I’ll have just one thing to say: ‘I tried.’ I gave of myself the best I knew how. My redemption will have been perfected when I stand and see Him who made it all possible.
In a time that was suspicious of both women ministers and Pentecostals, Kathryn Kuhlman shook twentieth-century Christianity back to its roots. Believers of all persuasions—Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, or whatever, it didn’t matter—flocked to her meetings to be healed or filled with the Holy Spirit as they had read about in the book of Acts. Though she called herself “an ordinary person,” the effects of her ministry were anything but ordinary. Kathryn was one of a handful of ministers after World War II who prophetically reintroduced the Holy Spirit and His gifts to the body of Christ on the earth in what has proven the greatest revival of all time: the Charismatic Renewal.
Kathryn Kuhlman was born on May 9, 1907, to Joseph and Emma Kuhlman. A childhood friend described Kathryn as having “large features, red hair, and freckles. . . . She wasn’t dainty or appealingly feminine in any sense of the word. She was taller than the rest of ‘our gang,’ gangly and boyish in build, and her long strides kept the rest of us puffing to keep up with her.”
One Sunday when Kathryn was fourteen, she attended church with her mother. As she stood singing, she began to shake all over and sob. A weight of conviction came over her, and she realized that she was a sinner in need of salvation and forgiveness. She slipped out from where she was standing, went to the corner of the front pew and sat weeping. At that moment Jesus lifted the weight from her shoulders and entered her heart.
In 1924 when Kathryn was about seventeen, she and her older sister Myrtle persuaded their parents that it was God’s will for Kathryn to travel with Myrtle and her husband Everett in their evangelistic tent ministry. Then in 1928, after a meeting in Boise, Idaho, Everett decided to go on to South Dakota, while the women stayed behind and continued to minister there. The offerings collected, however, were not enough to support them and Myrtle soon decided to rejoin her husband. After this happened, a local Boise pastor offered Kathryn a chance to preach at an old pool hall that had been converted into a mission and Kathryn’s ministry began…”
