During worship service this morning at my local church, I shared some thoughts that I felt eager to share with the church body during “shares” after the worship music:
I shared that I’ve been interested in the recent news in Oroville, California…
… and been following up on it. I felt that their is a lot of symbolism with “man-made” dams that have been constructed around the world with our “spiritual” walk. The dams can be a symbolism of “lies” (e.g. “Your not good enough” , You are a loser”, etc..)that has been spoken to each of us in various ways that hinder us to receive more what God can do through us.
Before writing this, I was reminded of this “old-school” worship song..
I feel that we need to let God destroy that “spiritual dam” in our personal lives in order for His “Holy Spirit” to move in us mightier as His children.
What are you currently personally “struggling” with? Do you trust that God will get your through it? I then shared one of the songs that was sung during worship on “I’m NO longer a slave to fear..”, which I shared last year at church that we can substitute “fear” with whatever (e.g. sin, depression, alcohol, deception…
…drugs, an orphan, anger, cancer, PTSD, shame , jealousy, greed, stress, bullying, sexual impurity, lost, past, etc..) is keeping you “bondage”.. Keep repeating this to get it in your head until you have been release from these. This is part of meditation w/ God’s word (Bible verses on each one).
After my share, the guest speakers (Dennis & Zoe) from Pillager, MN shared about their recent trip to the Philippines. This family duo modeled how God can use us . They went to the Philippines to minister to the people there in different barangays/villages in various ways (e.g. healing, words of knowedledge, encouragement, etc..) This was such an encouragement for all of that we don’t have to depend on “ministers” or “church leaders” to do God’s work. We all can be used by Him to bring the taste of God’s kingdom on earth.
Hope and pray this will touch you and may God use each of us mightily in these days and please pray for the people of Oroville and the communities in the valley downstream of the #Orovillespillway or #Orovilledam. Feel free to share your thoughts, prayer requests, etc..

Cop Fatally Shoots Black Man, Leaves Victim’s Girlfriend To Record Tragic Aftermath 07/07/2016 02:09 am ET | huffingtonpost.com
“..Castile’s death at the hands of police comes just a day after local cops shot another black man, Alton Sterling, in circumstances that shocked the world. Sterling was selling CDs outside a store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Tuesday when police, responding to a complaint about a man wielding a gun, tackled him in order to arrest him.
Someone yelled that Sterling had a gun and the police shot him at point-blank range while he was subdued on the ground. The shooting was captured in a graphic video that roiled the public’s conscience. The subsequent release of another video confirmed that Sterling was not have a gun in his hands at the time.
Many observers are expressing dismay at the regularity with which police kill unarmed black men in the United States…”

Philando Castile: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
Published 1:32 am EDT, July 7, 2016 Updated 9:23 am EDT, July 8, 2016 heavy.com/
“..In her Facebook Live video, Lavish Reynolds said that Philando Castile was “licensed to carry” and was “trying to get out his ID” and “let the officer know he had a firearm, and he was reaching for his wallet, and the officer just shot him. … He just shot his arm off.”..
In an emotional press conference held Thursday, which you can view above, Reynolds gave a detailed account of the stop that led to Castile’s death, prompted by a “broken taillight, which wasn’t broken.” She described Castile as “the quietest, most laid-back person you would ever meet. He was loving. … Nothing within his body language said intimidation. Nothing within his body said ‘shoot me.’ Nothing within his body language said ‘kill me, I want to be dead.’ He did not do nothing but what the police officer asked of us, which was to put your hands in the air and get your license and registration.” She said they were returning from the grocery store when stopped, according to CNN.”..
Mangseth said the details were still being investigated. He told the Post that he hadn’t yet seen the Facebook video. At one point in the video, the officer can be heard saying, “I told him not to reach for it! I told him to get his head up!”

When you inform an officer that you are armed, you need to follow the officer’s instructions exactly. Not reach for your wallet when he is telling you to keep your hands where he can see them. How in the hell is the officer supposed to know what you are reaching for? A white would have gotten shot for the exact same thing I guarantee you.
Van Blam says:
July 8, 2016 at 12:29 pm
According to reports the officer asked to see his ID after Castile told him that he was armed and had a permit. If he was reaching for his ID to comply with the officer’s request, that cop is guilty of murder. I’m not saying the cop intentionally murdered him rather that he was jittery and overreacted. Do you really think that he would have reacted to a white guy the same way he did with Castile? Nope. I wouldn’t be surprised if this officer ends it all. He knows he’s in deep sh*t.

Police group: Minn. governor ‘exploited what was already a horrible and tragic situation’
By T. Rees Shapiro, Lindsey Bever, Wesley Lowery and Michael E. Miller July 8 at 3:10 PM washingtonpost.com
“..ST. PAUL, Minn. — The morning after Minnesota’s governor said Philando Castile ended up dead during a traffic stop in part because he was black — and after five police officers were killed during a shooting attack in downtown Dallas — the head of a national police organization said law enforcement officers across the country are distraught, angry and anxious…”

Officer’s Attorney: ‘He Is Deeply Saddened for The Family and Loved Ones of Philando Castile Nate Leding
Updated: 07/09/2016 10:01 AM kstp.com
“…“He is deeply saddened for the family and loved ones of Philando Castile. Tragically, the use of force became necessary in reacting to the actions of Mr. Castile. This heartbreaking incident had nothing to do with race. It had to do with the presence of a gun.”
According to a BCA release, Officer Yanez and Officer Joseph Kauser conducted a traffic stop about 9:17 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Larpenteur Avenue West and Fry Street in Falcon Heights. Castile, of St. Paul, was the driver of the vehicle involved in the stop.
Both officers have been with the St. Anthony Police Department for four years.
Both are on standard administrative leave.
Yanez approached the vehicle from the driver’s side as Kauser approached from the passenger side. At one point during the exchange, Yanez fired his weapon, striking Castile multiple times, according to the BCA.
Yanez radioed for an ambulance as members of the Roseville Police Department and the St. Paul Fire Department administered medical aid…”
Who Is Jeronimo Yanez? The Cop Who Shot Philando Castile Has Been Identified Alana Romaina day ago (7.9.16) romper.com
“…While filming, Reynolds was told by Yanez, who sounded agitated, to keep her hands in the air. She replied, “I will, sir, no worries. I will,” and Yanez could then be heard yelling, “I told him not to reach for it. I told him to get his hand off it.”
Although Yanez’s face couldn’t be seen on the video, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) released his and Kauser’s name to the public Friday, according to The Daily Mail. Twenty-eight-year-old Yanez has been an officer with the St. Anthony Police Department for the past four years, but is now on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. The Department has not responded to Romper’s request for comment regarding the shooting.
Details about Yanez are still scarce, although The Daily Mail noted that now-deleted accounts linked to Ynez on wedding site The Knot and its related pregnancy site The Bump suggested he was married to his wife in November 2014, and that they welcomed a child together on August 4, 2015. Yanez appears to have no prior criminal record, other than a few minor traffic violations. Castile’s death is reportedly the first officer-related shooting in the St. Anthony Police Department in 30 years….”
Officer Jeronimo Yanez, an ‘all-around good guy,’ fired shots that killed Castile
By Mara Gottfried / St. Paul Pioneer Press on Jul 8, 2016 at 8:26 p.m inforum.com
“…The city’s annual report also notes Yanez’s involvement in volunteering, including giving a tour of the police station to a local Cub Scout troop and volunteering at St. Paul’s Cinco de Mayo celebration….
John Lozoya, the founder of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association, said Yanez has been an active volunteer through that organization as well.
He referred to him as “passionate” and “good-natured” and asked that the public be patient as the investigation into Castile’s death continues.
“It’s very easy to jump to conclusions, and it’s almost human nature sometimes to do that. We are all guilty of it,” said Lozoya, who is also a member of law enforcement. “We just ask that people wait until everything comes out on the table before judgment is passed.”..”

Thoughts & Prayers for the family 😦 I’ve learned to not be quick to “judge”, so we need to be patient and hear both sides of the story. Each “police shooting” is an individual case. We can’t judge all law enforcement by this one action. Unfortunately, it’s hard not to with all these cases (epidemic) around the country. What is the solution? Praying and wanting to act too to make a “positive” change!
How Castile Told Officer About Gun Was Critical in Final Moments

‘…St. Anthony police training documents outline how an officer should respond to traffic stops. According to the documents, if an officer believes it’s a high-risk stop — as one involving an armed robbery suspect would likely be — he should have the driver and others exit the car before approaching the vehicle, while officers take cover and draw their weapons.
Watching the video got me very frustrated and also sad. There are a lot of mix emotions out there. Just turn it to “positive” as I feel “good” can come out of “bad”. Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, prayers, etc..
Officer Betty Shelby Charged with Felony Manslaughter in Shooting Death of Terence Crutcher
September 22, 2016 lovebscott.com
“..In dashcam and helicopter video released by police, Terence Crutcher appears to have his hands up moments before he is shot by Shelby. Shelby’s attorney, Scott Wood, maintains that Terence refused to follow more than two dozen commands and that he reached into the open window of the car before Shelby perceived a threat and shot him.
The Crutcher family’s attorneys Benjamin L. Crump and Damario Solomon-Simmons said the window was up, evidenced by the blood spattered on it when he was shot…”
BREAKING: Truth About Terence Crutcher Comes Out… It’s BAD for the Media conservativetribune.com
“…Now, you watch that video and listen to the commentary. Did it look to you like Crutcher was following commands? You can hear an officer say that Crutcher was “still walking” and that he wasn’t “following commands.” Another officer said that he “could be on something.”
Take a look at these pictures Bearing Arms grabbed from the video that disprove the media’s false narrative:…
As you can see, Crutcher was not shot with his hands up. He was clearly flouting officer orders, and at the time of his shooting he lowered his right hand toward his waistband.
Oh, and by the way, the media have run with the story that Crutcher was unarmed, but didn’t seem too interested in the PCP that was found in his car and that the Tulsa Police Department officer who shot Crutcher, Betty Shelby, was trained to spot PCP abuse, according to Bearing Arms.
In any of these cases, the legal system should be given time to do its job, but the media have decided to run false narratives that fit their agenda without all the facts and, in some cases, despite the facts.
As you can see above, there’s clearly more to the story….”

A Look at the Trinity From a Messianic Jewish Perspective
by Richard Harvey Hits: 12004 jewsforjesus.org/
Jesus in Genesis: 1. The First Word of the Bible
I asked my dad once how do you convince a Jewish person that Jesus is the Messiah. He told me to show them Jesus in the Old Testament. My first thought was like everyone’s, the Old Testament (The Tanakh) is for the Jews and the New Testament (B’rit Chadashah) is for the Christians. My dad had it right. Jesus is on every page of the Old Testament; you just have to look. To prove my dad’s point, look where Jesus is hiding in plain sight in the very first word of the Bible. God bless you for watching.—John

How can Jesus be God when the Hebrew Bible says God is not a man? Cf. Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29; Hosea 11:9. answering-islam.org
None of those biblical texts say God CANNOT be a man, but say that God IS not a man, a major difference:
“God IS not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” Numbers 23:19
“And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he IS not a man, that he should have regret.” 1 Samuel 15:29
“I will not execute my burning anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; for I am God and not a man, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath.” Hosea 11:9
It is true that during the Old Testament period God hadn’t become a man, but this doesn’t deny that God could choose to later become a man, specifically in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Hebrew Bible itself supports the view that God can become a man, without ceasing to be God, since there are places where God appeared in human form:
“The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw THREE MEN standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, ‘If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little ..”
I’m still doing some more research, but feel free to share any suggestions, feedback, comments, etc.. below…Thanks 🙂

I finally had the chance to see the popular movie “Frozen” for the first time yesterday. It was a special public “sing-a-long” (see short video) at the local campus. I’ve loved the song “Let it go” since it was frequently played on the radio and never knew it was from this movie until awhile after when I asked a co-worker. I did a karaoke version of this song this past summer too…
“Let it Go” (Kaoroke by Sal July 14′) in “Frozen” (14′ Winter “cold” Season ) w/Lyrics
After watching the movie, I’m now more understanding of this song as it became more meaningful to me personally. As I watched the movie, I did a lot of self-reflection and life symbolism (this grows when one meditates God’s Word in an almost daily basis and views almost everything symbolically). If you haven’t watched the movie, you might want to stop reading this blog as this might be a spoiler. I never knew what the whole story/plot of “Frozen” was, so I was watching with uncertainty on what will happen next.
The first scene of the movie, Anna and Elsa are playing like any other kids would be doing. Unfortunately, Anna got hurt for overplaying, which I remember getting hurt many times as a kid. It was a scene many of us can relate. I saw the injury as an almost concussion symptom with a head injury due to the fall accident. I almost got serious injured when I was playing (trying to pretend I was Superman) as a kid. I was trying to use a blanket as my flying robe as I slid down the handrails (4-6″ wide) of my parents’ 2-story house. Somehow, the blanket got caught and stuck, which caused me to fall almost a floor down. I hit the stairs down below pretty hard with my back landing on the curvature of one of the stairs below. I couldn’t breathe for a while as I landed on the right spot, which my parents came running out of the kitchen. They asked what happened and if I was ok, I tried to yell as loud as I can-“Yes, I’m o-k” (barely could say it as I was having trouble breathing) in a small voice. My parents went back to the kitchen and I then started to get up aching and relieved that my parents didn’t know what “really happened”. I look back years later and more thankful that I didn’t get severely hurt.
Anyways getting back to the movie, the popular song -“Let is Go” became more meaningful after I watched the movie. Elsa goes out to the mountains and starts building her own ice palace, so she can live by herself as she’s afraid of hurting more people with her powers (gifts). How this scene spoke to me is the part when she sings “let it go”, which I personally feel we need to get out there and use our God-given gifts..for “good” of course. Sometimes, we can use our “gifts” for “bad”. There is that freedom when we do use our gifts! What talents, skills, or gifts do you feel you have? Are you using them (e.g. workplace, church, family, etc..) ? …Using it to praise oneself or giving it glory to God?
The character that I personally somewhat identified myself with was Kristoff. There was a scene when Kristoff explained to Anna why he’s the way he is, which is due to isolating himself from the others because people can be so mean. I had a season like Kristoff (just wanted to just hangout with Sven…”Exclusive: Disney’s frozen Clip “Reindeers are better than people“)…
years ago when I just got “tired” of being “nice” to people as “they” have taken advantaged of my “niceness” (e.g. financially). I just wanted to put a wall (e.g. “No Man Is An Island
Tenth Avenue North“) and isolate myself. I started to just “keep to myself” in various ways, which in isolation-one can get oneself in trouble by doing things (e.g. sin) one shouldn’t be doing in the “dark”.
Towards the end of the movie, Anna is still suffering and is about to die as her heart is getting cold. In order for her to live, she need someone to kiss her that loves her too. In the middle of the movie, one would thought it would be Hans. As the movie progressed, the relationship grew between Anna and Kristoff. In the scene where Kristoff finally finds Anna on the frozen bay, Anna notices her sister (Elsa) is about to get killed by Hans. Anna runs to go between the sword of Hans and Elsa, which she freezes exactly in time to stop the in-coming sword. I would later saw this as symbol of how Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for “us”. However, Elsa hugs Anna and this love melts the ice and warms her heart to live again. After the movie, I went to a special church workshop on healing. The teacher would encourage us to have more compassion for the people we were praying for healing. I then started to reflect this ending scene of Frozen on the power of love can bring healing!

From the ashes of Sept. 11 arise the manly virtues. OPINION
October 12, 2001 By PEGGY NOONAN online.wsj.com
“…I believe this quite literally. But then I am experiencing Sept. 11 not as a political event but as a spiritual event.
And, of course, a cultural one, which gets me to my topic.
It is not only that God is back, but that men are back. A certain style of manliness is once again being honored and celebrated in our country since Sept. 11. You might say it suddenly emerged from the rubble of the past quarter century, and emerged when a certain kind of man came forth to get our great country out of the fix it was in.
I am speaking of masculine men, men who push things and pull things and haul things and build things, men who charge up the stairs in a hundred pounds of gear and tell everyone else where to go to be safe. Men who are welders, who do construction, men who are cops and firemen. They are all of them, one way or another, the men who put the fire out, the men who are digging the rubble out, and the men who will build whatever takes its place.
