Community raises more than $100,000 in support of high school teacher filmed brawling with student in class Yahoo Lifestyle
November 6, 2018 yahoo.com
“..People have donated more than $100,000 in support of a California high school teacher who was arrested after he was captured on camera brawling with a student.

Music teacher Marston Riley, 64, was taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse and causing great bodily injury on a child after the brawl broke out at Maywood Academy High School in Maywood, Calif., on Friday. However, in spite of this, members of the community have banded together to donate tens of thousands of dollars to support Riley, according to a GoFundMe started in his name.

“We all may have mixed feelings about what happened,” wrote Cecilia Diaz Jimenez, who created the fundraiser page to support the teacher. “But please do know that this is not the first time that Mr. Riley is [sic] attacked; physically or verbally. He is a great person and a great teacher.”

The footage in question shows Riley punching the student as the pair faced off in the classroom on Friday. Riley had initially asked the student to leave the classroom because he wasn’t wearing a proper uniform, Los Angeles news station KTLA reported…”

Colleagues defend teacher charged with pummeling student for calling him N-word By Alexandra Klausner November 5, 2018 | 11:25am | Updated nypost.com
“…Even as a female campus officer appears to intervene, Riley continues to pummel the student.

The teen, who has not been publicly identified, was treated for mild to moderate injuries at a local hospital and released, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.

Students told KTLA the fight began when Riley asked the student to leave the classroom because he wasn’t wearing a proper uniform. The boy refused. One student began recording the spat and captured the teen hurling racial slurs at Riley, who is black.

“It was just back and forth, back and forth, and then the teacher just decided to throw a punch and that’s when everything happened,” one student told CBS.

Some students, parents and teachers defended Riley on social media — instead blaming the student for using racial slurs against him.

“We all may have mixed feelings about what happened. But please do know that this is not the first time that Mr. Riley is attacked; physically or verbally. He is a great person and a great teacher,” reads a description on the fundraising page.

“He was a really nice teacher, I always respected him. He always had a really good relationship with every student,” a student told KTLA.

Still, other parents were left disturbed by the situation.

“Just the fact that he’s hitting a child — it’s not right,” one mom told NBC…”

“The Central High School teacher who was hurt breaking up a lunchroom fight Dec. 4 hopes to return to work in the fall once he feels more like himself.

John Ekblad, 55, said in an interview this week that he’s slowly recovering from the headaches, nausea, memory loss and numbness in his right side. But a hand tremor makes it a struggle to lift food to his mouth, and he’s battling anxiety and memory loss.

“My big thing is anxiety — that ain’t me,” he said. “It’s like I’m in my body somewhere and I want to come out. It’s like I’m watching my life as a movie.”..”

Global Epidemic?: Greed for…

I thought of this topic while working on my bicycle this afternoon (Saturday, November 7th 2015). Has greed become a global epidemic? It’s not just money, but the “selfish” desire for power, status, and wealth!

Ever heard of the saying “There are no U-Hauls in Heaven” or…?

You Can’t Pull A U-Haul To Heaven by Hobson Smith….

Are your collecting something “materialistically” that you won’t be able to bring to Heaven when you leave this life? I used to collect a lot of sports memorabilias (specifically baseball items). I’m trying to sell it now, like I sold some baseball cards to a friend and used the money for “Native American” outreach.

ISIS Mercenary Admits Getting Funds from US journal-neo.org
“…1414324972-The Express Tribune, an affiliate of the New York Times, recently reported in an article titled, “Startling revelations: IS operative confesses to getting funds via US,” that another “coincidence” appears to be contributing to the so-called “Islamic State’s” (ISIS) resilience and vast resources. A recent investigation being conducted by Pakistani security forces involving a captured ISIS fighter has revealed that he and many fighters alongside him, received funds that were routed through the US.

“During the investigations, Yousaf al Salafi revealed that he was getting funding – routed through America – to run the organisation in Pakistan and recruit young people to fight in Syria,” a source privy to the investigations revealed to Daily Express on the condition of anonymity.

Al Salafi is a Pakistani-Syrian, who entered Pakistan through Turkey five months ago. Earlier, it was reported that he crossed into Turkey from Syria and was caught there. However, he managed to escape from Turkey and reached Pakistan to establish IS in the region.

The Tribune would also reveal that the findings of the investigations were being shared with the United States. The source cited by the Tribune suggested a compelling theory as to why the US has attempted to portray itself as “at war with ISIS,” stating:

“The US has been condemning the IS activities but unfortunately has not been able to stop funding of these organisations, which is being routed through the US,” a source said…”
US Admits Paying Al-Qaeda and ISIS Terrorists For Services Rendered In Syria
By Brandon Turbeville
Global Research, June 30, 2015 globalresearch.ca
“..When researchers such as myself have reported that the United States is funding al-Qaeda, Nusra, ISIS and other related terror organizations in Syria, we were not kidding. Still, despite the fact that even the U.S. government itself has admitted that it was funding terrorists– directly and indirectly through Saudi Arabia, the suggestion was met with disbelief, ridicule, or either entirely ignored.

Now, however, the United States government has admitted that it funds terrorists on the ground in Syria yet again, this time placing an individual dollar amount on the assistance provided.

According to the Pentagon, Syrian “rebels” being trained and “vetted” by the United States are receiving “compensation” to the tune of anywhere between $250 to $400 per month to act as America’s proxy forces in the Middle East. Reuters reports that the payment levels were confirmed by the Pentagon and also that the Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Navy Commander Elissa Smith both separately admitted the fact that these “new” terrorists are receiving a stipend…”

This is an on-going topic, which I’ll be sharing more later. Feel free to comment or share any thoughts. Stay tune for more!….

Struggling with Sexual Temptation

Yes, this is a very interesting topic, which I’ve been meaning to write about a long time ago. It’s been a really increasing “issue” in our society and it’s very rarely talked about.  I decided to share my personal “on-going” story on how I deal with “sexual temptation”, which we can all agree it’s been a “epedimic”! Our actions (e.g. sexually abuse) can “negatviely” affect others, which is why I call it an “epedimic”.

First of all, I would have to share some personal background on how I got to where I am right now. I used to struggle with pornography (see http://issues.goodnewseverybody.com/pornography.html) at a young age (probably during my years of puberty, so around 14-16-can’t remember the exact age).

Well, the reason for sharing my past is that I notice that a lot of the people I’ve “chatted” with has opened-up to me that their “early years” play a significant role in their “sexual tendencies”. For example, an extreme story is of a lady who is 22nd now and she was so-called “rape” at age 7 by her dad’s “so-called friends”. She’s now very sexually active and told me she was actually “ok” with what happened when she was young.

Anyways, I can share more stories that are less “extreme” to the one above, but many get curious about their sexual identity or “activity” during the transitioning “puberty stages”. I’m not an expert on this topic, but based on my own experience and hearing from others-it seems like a “significant” season in peoples’ lives. I feel it’s important for “kids” around this age to be educated about this stuff.

Escaping Sexual Sin: Consider the Consequences cbn.com
“…Through Paul, God is warning us not to be deceived into thinking that sin does not have disastrous consequences.

Please take a few moments right now, and invite the Holy Spirit to show you how sexual sin would seriously damage your life.

First, consider how it would affect your relationship with the Lord. Would you want to jeopardize your relationship with Jesus, who loves you more than anyone and gave His life to set you free from sin and death?..”

I was just Tempted to Sin Hardcore BUT Overcame Through Christ …

Ok, what do we do now? We are sexual beings-some are more active than others. I’m here to just share my own personal tips and hoping you can learn from this. I welcome any other ideas (e.g. suggestions, comments, questions, etc..).

A Biblical Guide for Overcoming Sexual Temptation – YouTube

I knew I didn’t want to keep doing what I was doing as a young “immature” kid, so when I found my Christian faith. I learned to avoid temptation. The number one for me growing up was media (e.g. television). I haven’t had cable since 2006, which has been very helpful. Unfortunately, pornography is everywhere (e.g. computers). I “try” to avoid any pornography (e.g. pop-ups in computer websites) as I delete it or just run/flee..

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
1 Corinthians 6

However, it’s not easy as we read it in the Bible (God’s Word), so what has helped me since I became a Christian is several disciplinary tactics. I “try” to meditate (morning and evening) in God’s Word as it helps me “renew my mind” (keep my mind pure).
I then “try” to daily put the “Armor of God” (see Prayer: Intercession, Spiritual Warfare, etc…
) as life’s a battle everyday! Have others you can be accountable to, which means sharing your “dark secrets” with each other and cover each other in prayer. Lastly, keeping faithful or keeping that convenant/promise I made to my Heavenly Father that I will keep that “sexual purity” until marriage!

Still not convinced sexual temptation doesn’t effect others. Check this out…
