Deep Thought: Power of Forgiveness shown in my life so far…

Lately, this theme of forgiveness has been circulating where ever I go. I had to “let it out” and write about it. I ran into this video on “spiritual warfare” and the speaker shared this quote that really resonated in me…

“The devil loses, when you forgive..” https://youtu.be/X0yb3zdKeZk Any personal stories, feedback, etc..? more.. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151998231142550&set=oa.736544596358770&type=3&theater

Above is a post I shared in one of my groups (Good News Love) I created on facebook. I’ve heard there is power when we forgive each other, so I would like to start…

If any of my friends read this, please forgive me if I ever wronged you in anyway. I might’ve forgotten it, so please feel free to contact me and remind me if this will help release any resentment, offense, or hurt that will heal you.

*see other Bible verses on forgiveness

One of the causes of “offense” is due to misunderstanding, which we all quickly prejudge. There are times I reflect on my parents fighting and it’s due to the “failure to communicate” (see “Failure to Communicate”-song I wrote). Can you relate? Feel free to share below…

For those that haven’t met me yet or haven’t encountered any offense from me…yet! 😉 I’m sure there are others that might’ve hurt you in various ways (e.g. abuse). Unfortunately, you might not ever get them to forgive you. However, God (Heavenly Father) knows and I encourage you to go to Him for healing of your past hurts.

I’ll share some of my forgiveness stories:

Back in high school, a former “friend” of mine wanted to befriend me after “ignoring” me most of the later years of “middle school”. Not being a Christian at the time, I wouldn’t forgive him and shun him away. Month later, he died in a head-on-collision car accident (visiting his biological Mom all the way in Colorado). I was torn in pieces when I heard the news and wished I reconciled with him. Please don’t make the dumbest mistake as I did, reconcile with those that has hurt you before it’s too late.

During my college and post-college years, I was interested in learning more about WWII (more of the Pacific arena) due to my family’s history (grandfather got capture by the Japanese and survived as a cook and great-grandfather was presumably killed as he never returned home when scoping the vicinity for any Japanese solders). As I read more books of the horrific atrocities the Japanese did in the Philippines and elsewhere, my heart towards the Japanese grew with more hate :(.. Well, God seems to try to soften my heart by bringing Japanese students to the college I attended. Then He brought them to be my renters in the house I owned. My last renter caught me watching some WWII footage of Japan’s horrific treatment. I tried to turned it off, but he saw it and we ended up having a deep conversation. He ended up asking forgiveness for what his ancestors did. I told him no worries, but in my heart-I felt some more compassion for him and the Japanese people overall.

Lastly, this is between me and my Heavenly Father-I gave my life to Christ my freshmen year in college. I did it after hearing a testimony of this speaker at a local church in Morris. This grabbed my heart and got me off my seat to go to the front (alter) and asked God to forgive me all of my sins. That was just the beginning and still in the journey of my faith (still sinning, but trying to sin-less as I grow in my personal relationship with my “Heavenly Dad” :)..

Above are just summaries of some of my stories on forgiveness-repentance. I’ll be glad to share more, but would love to hear yours first. I would love to disclose and be open/transparent/honest with you with my personal challenges-struggles as “we” can help each other in this journey of forgiveness with the “limited uncertain” time we have on this earth…

Driving Stories: Almost hit a deer…again!

Early this past weekend (“Friday the 13th” November of 2015), I almost hit a deer..again! I was driving south on a county road from Kensington to Cyrus coming back from visiting a friend in Wadena. I usually drive the speed limit (exactly) at night because it’s darker and it’s deer season. I’ve learned in the past during the deer season (I almost a hit a deer that just came out of the ditch going to Morris from Wheaton, Minnesota. I was driving the speed limit too and just nicked the leg as it crossed safely the highway as I tapped on my brakes gently and keep going.) to be more cautious than usual because it’s that time of the year where more deer are running around.

Ironically, I was sharing this past deer story with some folks at Wadena when a friend brought the story up. Some folks present shared to be extra cautious with the abundance of deer by their home in Wadena when going “home”.

As I was driving this county highway towards Cyrus, this deer was about to cross the highway. I slowly moved to my left crossing the median (no cars coming) as I lightly tapped my brakes. The deer decided to just galloped parallel with me driving south on this highway instead of crossing. I was like, “wow, I never seen the deer do that maneuver before”. I thank my Heavenly Father for sparing my car from getting damage as I’ve heard many stories of those that haven’t been fortunate 🙂

How To Avoid Deer Vehicle Collisions – Steps to take to … – YouTube

MYTH #1: Always swerve to avoid hitting a deer. Actually, police statistics show that most motorist deaths and injuries occur when drivers swerve to avoid hitting the deer and strike a fixed object, such as a tree or another vehicle. It may seem powerless, but simply applying your brakes while you’re buckled up, gripping the steering wheel with both hands, and coming to a controlled stop (if possible) can actually help minimize damage and injuries. MYTH #2: Motorcyclists are not as likely to strike a deer. In fact, motorcyclists are more vulnerable to death or injury in motorcycle-deer crashes. More than 80 percent of all motorcycle-deer crashes involve an injury. MYTH #3: Deer are usually out at dusk. In addition to dusk, you should watch for deer during their prime feeding times; especially at dawn and the first few hours of darkness. Myth #4 – Hunting reduce Deer Vehicle Accident ABSOLUTELY NOT in fact hunting makes deer vehicle accident worse (see last portion below and link) Here are some other tips Allstate recommends: — Be especially cautious when driving on two-lane roads and rural roads. — If you see one deer cross, slow down and watch for others to follow. — Glance continually from the road to the roadside, looking for movement where roads are bordered by fields or natural habitat. — Heed deer crossing signs and reduce speed in deer “hot spots.” — At night, watch for reflection from headlights in the eyes of deer. — If a deer “freezes” in your headlights, turn your lights off and then on. Healed from Head Concussion?

After a softball game injury (e.g. nose fracture), I started to have some symptoms of a head concussion:

-headache

-dizziness

– nausea

-dazed feeling
(see medicinenet.com)

..however, after “googling” the above list and not having the others (e.g. visual symptoms, irritability, etc..). I didn’t quickly react to feeling I had to see a docter..yet! I did share this with some people and a friend (nurse) actually told me I should at least get it checked (e.g. brain scan) out. I remember my college days when I had a skiing accident (e.g. knee injury), I went to see a doctor in the ER. I was more worried about the “financial” costs than the “medical’ issue. Two months later still feeling these symptoms (mentioned above), I had the opportunity for a short prayer service for healing at a local church in Fargo, North Dakota after participating in this event (see Impact World Tour) in October.

Brain injury recovery video

..Well, I had several friends from this local church lay hands and prayed for healing! It took a week after when I realized I haven’t been feeling any of the symptoms (mentioned above). Praise God! I’m thankful to God for his healing power! I feel bad I haven’t had the opportunity to share this until now (3 months later) as I’ve been caught up with the “busyness” of life. I’ve been hearing so many stories on the news of this increasingly “health issue” and want to encourage the rest of the world that they can “at least try” to get prayer for healing…

“Heavenly Father, we thank you for sending your Jesus Christ on died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins so we may have eternal life. We also thank you for the abundant life you promised too. We believe healing is included in that “abundant life” because you give freely to those who ask in Your name. Thus, we ask you for your healing touch in our head and that you take our “head concussion” (or any health ailments you ay have you) away..in Jesus’ MIGHTY name..AMEN!”

Counting your days: What do you want to accomplish in your life-time?

If you knew your life is coming to an end, what would you want to do in the remaining seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, etc..? Not many people have that opportunity to know the number of how much time they have. I had this thought-provoking question running around my mind the past week during a “freak” accident at work last Thursday, April 7th 2011. A client pointed out to me there was a lot of “sharpies” or lancets (short pointed needles people use to draw blood on their finger for diabetics) thrown in a recycling bin. I didn’t want any of the clients to get hurt, so I put on some latex gloves and hand picked each one by one. It was taking too long as this recycling barrel (4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide) was half-way full and would take “forever” to sort through this. I decided to dump the barrel into a plastic garbage bag. As I was tipping the barrel, a lancet somehow made it’s way down and poked my right “middle-finger” through the plastic latex glove. I saw the blood gush out inside my latex-plastic covered hand. I immediately finished what I was doing and threw the garbage out in the dumpster, so no one else will get poked. I then washed my hand with water and soap, I took the Coke can where I was throwing the lancets and brought it with me to our staff’s nurse and got medical attention. When I went home, I didn’t realize how serious this was until I “googled” on my personal lab top computer. I immediately called the local hospital and was scheduled to get a blood test right away.

….see GoodnewsEverybody.com LA: Nurse, Nursing, etc..

Through this whole time, lots of questions started to pop on my mind. I even still have them popping-up as I write this. However, my peace grew as I kept giving it to God. I then started to think about the movie “Bucket List“…

The Bucket List – Official Trailer

Uploaded on May 22, 2009
“Corporate billionaire Edward Cole and working class mechanic Carter Chambers are worlds apart. At a crossroads in their lives, they share a hospital room and discover they have two things in common: a desire to spend the time they have left doing everything they ever wanted to do before they kick the bucket and an unrealized need to come to terms with who they are. Together they embark on the road trip of a lifetime, becoming friends along the way and learning to live life to the fullest. Each adventure adds another check to their list, all done with insight and humor.

… (see GoodnewsEverybody.com Elderly, Old, Longevity, Senior Citizens, Wisdom, etc… Outreach) , which I started to reflect on things (e.g. reconcile some folks) I would like to see done or more importantly-“Do for Heavenly Father“- before I die or when God takes me Home.
