I’ve heard this statement “again” today, which I told them this analogy that I thought of years ago..
When I went to school growing-up, I was bullied and teased. I actually had days I didn’t want to go to school or just regretted going. However, I kept “forcing” myself as I wanted to get my “education” and be successful in life. I’m glad I didn’t “quit” or I would’ve not been where I’m at right now. I’m not saying school is like church, but it’s a “man-made institution”. There is “imperfectness” in any type of “institution” (run by people)!…government 😉 As long as these institutions are “led” by people, it’s always going to be “corrupt” (see Deep Thought: Who to “blame” for the world’s corruption? ) in some sort of way. There are places that are more “Godly” than others, but the key thing is prayer! Keep praying for these people. Before I go to work, I “try” to pray-sing the “Lord’s Prayer” that His kingdom will come to my workplace.
I just thought of this, where do you work at? Do you look forward to going to work? Are there people that you “disliked” or have been “offended” by something he/she did? Do you still go to work? Why? How do you deal with it?
Help in Overcoming Church Hurt Article by Josh Moody Guest Contributor desiringgod.org
“As a pastor of a church, I’ve heard stories from people who have found church confusing, contrarian, or even damaging. Not every church hurts people, but most churches have hurt someone at some point. Some people are hurt through their own mistakes, others because of sin committed against them, and still others because of failed leadership. This reality can leave them reluctant to re-engage, afraid of being hurt again, wanting to protect themselves, and questioning the place of church in their lives. The good news for the hurting is that God has spoken to your pain in the Bible….”

Letting go of victimhood.
“You may have been abused by shepherds who should have restored you but instead chose to condemn you (or worse). Or perhaps you have been neglected by churchgoers who should have cared enough to seek you out and return you to the flock. I do not deny that many of us have been victims of the sinful, selfish, and hurtful acts of those in and around the church.
..With physical hurts, we immediately seek help. But emotional and spiritual hurts seem to engender a response unlike any other wound. When we are “shot” by people in the church, we tend to focus on the shooter, not the Healer. This is one of our Enemy’s most effective distraction strategies—he knows that healing is available, and he does not want us to get it. ..”
Overcoming a Bad Church Experience By David Sanford focusonthefamily.com
“Anyone can have a bad church experience. Just ask Colleen and Eric.
At first, Colleen and Eric felt great about the church they attended. After all, that’s where they had met, were married, and had started raising their family.
At that point in their lives, Colleen and Eric weren’t really searching for God — just the acceptance of a group of peers. So when they started noticing the church leadership’s apparent contradictions and deception, they kept quiet. What they didn’t know for several years: their church was part of a now-discredited cult.
After Colleen and Eric left the cult, pain, guilt, and doubts plagued them. The experience “caused me to question my own ability to see the truth,” Colleen says. “I had guilt for seeing red flags along the way, but not doing anything about it. You ask God for forgiveness and He gives it, but it’s hard to forgive yourself. I felt cheated, like I had wasted all those years.”
Within a year, however, Colleen and Eric joined the Vista Del Sol church in El Paso, Texas, and began the second religious journey of their life — this time in a healthy church environment.
Colleen’s desire to be accepted was met — this time in a positive environment. “We felt genuinely loved by everyone,” she says. “Walter Muller [the pastor] embraced us and loved us. I think his Austrian background made him have a heart for people who were a little different.”
Despite the guilt that Colleen felt from being in a cult, she wouldn’t change her past. Why? God has allowed her to share her story with and assist others who have had bad church experiences.

HOW TO DEAL WITH CHURCH HURT | I’VE BEEN HURT BY CHURCH!
THE BEAT by Allen Parr
“…How do you respond when you’ve given your life, your time, and a whole bunch of your money to a church only to be disappointed and hurt?
INTRODUCTION: I’ve experienced everything from a pastor in college coming on to me to another pastor calling me the N word from the pulpit during his sermon. I personally know other people who have given their hard-earned money to churches and when they were in need whether it was financial or they or their loved ones were sick no one from the church came to visit them or support them and this has left them bitter and angry towards church. So, today I want to give you just a few things to consider if you’re dealing with church hurt.

Once the oil has been drilled, it must be refined. Oil contains many chemicals besides carbon, and refining the oil takes some of these chemicals out.
We use oil for many things. About half of the world’s petroleum is converted into gasoline. The rest can be processed and used in liquid products such as nail polish and rubbing alcohol, or solid products such as water pipes, shoes, crayons, roofing, vitamin capsules, and thousands of other items.

Can You Make a Wind Turbine Without Fossil Fuels? February 25, 2014 by Robert Wilson theenergycollective.com
“..The current feasibility of 100% renewable energy is easily tested by asking a simple question. Can you build a wind turbine without fossil fuels? If the machines that will deliver 100% renewable energy cannot be made without fossil fuels, then quite obviously we cannot get 100% renewable energy…
What is it made of? Lots of steel, concrete and advanced plastic. Material requirements of a modern wind turbine have been reviewed by the United States Geological Survey. On average 1 MW of wind capacity requires 103 tonnes of stainless steel, 402 tonnes of concrete, 6.8 tonnes of fiberglass, 3 tonnes of copper and 20 tonnes of cast iron. The elegant blades are made of fiberglass, the skyscraper sized tower of steel, and the base of concrete…
However I will note at the outset that the requirement for fiberglass means that a wind turbine cannot currently be made without the extraction of oil and natural gas, because fiberglass is without exception produced from petrochemicals…
Now, none of this is to argue against wind turbines, it is simply arguing against over-promising what can be achieved. It also should be pointed out that we cannot build a nuclear power plant, or any piece of large infrastrtucture for that matter, without concrete or steel. A future entirely without fossil fuels may be desirable, but currently it is not achievable. Expectations must be set accordingly.”
The Solar Power Paradox: Alternative Energy Can’t Run on Oil .. altenergymag.com
“…As demand for alternative energy increases and green technologies progress at an unprecedented rate, the solar industry has undoubtedly taken massive strides toward making the world a greener place. Global photovoltaic (PV) production is currently the world’s fastest-growing energy technology – doubling every two years by an average of 48 percent per year. However, the reality remains that the manufacture of PV solar modules (like many green renewable energy sources) is heavily petroleum dependent, presenting a fundamental contradiction in the green energy movement…”

One of the major reasons behind the increasing demand to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels is the fact that they are expected to run out at a certain point of time in the future. This is where sustainable energy is expected to be useful as it would last longer than any other form of fuel source…”

“…Among the veterans at Standing Rock Monday was Bill Means, a Vietnam vet who returned from fighting a bloody U.S. war of aggression overseas to take on the U.S. government at Wounded Knee. Bill Means is a founding member of the International Indian Treaty Council and co-founder of the American Indian Movement (AIM). Means is a key adviser to the Standing Rock Tribe on their resistance to the pipeline. I spoke with him shortly after he met with the Standing Rock leaders this week about future strategies for the tribe on its continuing resistance to the pipeline…
Bill Means: I feel a brotherhood to those veterans. I was there in Vietnam representing the United States, but one of the things that was beautiful about coming home from that terrible war was that our people still honored us, not because we fought for America but because we fought for the honor of our people. When I returned from Vietnam my cousin gave me an Indian name, my friend gave me a horse, and I was welcomed back to the community with open arms. I think that helped us in our healing from what they now call post traumatic stress. “

“..Before World War Two, Vietnam had been part of the French Empire. During the war, the country had been overrun by the Japanese. When the Japanese retreated, the people of Vietnam took the opportunity to establish their own government lead by Ho Chi Minh. However, after the end of the war, the Allies gave back South Vietnam to the French while the north was left in the hands of the non-communist Chinese. The Nationalist Chinese treated the North Vietnamese very badly and support for Ho Chi Minh grew. He had been removed from power at the end of the war. The Chinese pulled out of North Vietnam in 1946 and the party of Ho Chi Minh took over – the Viet Minh…
South Vietnam also had a population of 16 million. Its first proper leader was Ngo Dinh Diem who was a fanatical catholic. As communism hated religion, Diem hated all that communism stood for. This is why he got America’s support – he had a poor record on human rights but his rule was in the era of the “Domino Theory” and anybody who was anti-communist in the Far East was likely to receive American backing – regardless of their less than savoury background. Ngo ruled as a dictator along with his brother – Nhu. Their government was corrupt and brutal but it was also backed by America…”

Confronting the Ugly Truth about America’s Dirty War in Vietnam by William J. Astore 2-11-13 historynewsnetwork.org
“..“to kill Communists and to kill as many of them as possible. Stack ’em like cordwood. Victory was a high body-count … war a matter of arithmetic. The pressure [from the top] on unit commanders to produce enemy corpses was intense, and they in turn communicated it to their troops. This led to such practices as counting civilians as Viet Cong. ‘If it’s dead and Vietnamese, it’s VC,’ was a rule of thumb in the bush It is not surprising, therefore, that some men acquired a contempt for human life and a predilection for taking it.”..
..A line that has always stayed with me from Caputo’s memoir came from one of his NCOs, a Sergeant Colby, who in 1965 told then-Lieutenant Caputo that, “Before you leave here, sir, you’re going to learn that one of the most brutal things in the world is your average nineteen-year-old American boy.” Turse’s study plumbs the depths of such brutality, to include a racist subculture (dehumanizing the Vietnamese as “gooks” and “slopes”) within the U.S. military that facilitated it. Draft an American teenager, teach him to kill, send him to an utterly foreign land in which he can’t distinguish friend from foe, give him power over life and death against a dehumanized enemy, and reward him for generating a high body count in which “If it’s dead and Vietnamese, it’s VC,” and you have an ineluctable recipe for murderous violence…
It’s time our nation found the courage to face those twenty (or fifty) walls of Vietnamese dead. It’s time we faced them with the same sorrow and same regret we reserve for our own wall of dead. Only after we do so can our nation stop glorifying war. Only after we do so can our nation fully heal.
“How the U.S. Got Involved In Vietnam”
By Jeff Drake vietvet.org
“… By the end of 1943, small groups of Vietminh commandos were penetrating into Tonkin, led by Vo Nguyen Giap,(13) the future strategist of Dienbienphu and eventual Commander in Chief of the armies of North Vietnam. By 1945, the Vietminh controlled wide regions of the northernmost provinces and had engaged the full attention of most of the Japanese 21st Division.(14)
Being the only recognized force of some strength opposing the Japanese, the Vietminh received support from the American OSS (Office of Strategic Services). In return, the Vietminh helped rescue downed pilots and provided important intelligence information to OSS agents. A number of OSS officers voiced their admiration for the Vietminh and helped convince OSS leaders to back the Vietminh’s struggle for independence.(15) The Vietnamese fully expected American support due to Roosevelt’s Atlantic Charter, which emphasized self-determination for all peoples — not merely Europeans. In addition, the Vietnamese listened to broadcasts from the US Office of War Information, which often cited US support for colonial peoples struggling for their freedom. ..
As Japan faced defeat at the hands of the Allies, the Vietminh looked forward to Allied support in any future struggle against French colonialism. After all, the Vietminh had given valuable support to the Allies, and Ho expected support and recognition for his newly-established government, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, in turn. A statement to this effect was even included in his government’s Declaration of Independence, established on September 2, 1945, which stated: “We are convinced that the Allied nations… will not refuse to acknowledge the independence of Viet Nam.”…
With the British and the Chinese finally gone, the Vietminh came under direct pressure from the French. By this time it was obvious that Ho Chi Minh would be receiving no aid from either the US or Russia. Indeed, from Ho’s perspective he had been abandoned by the international community and left alone to deal with France. Economic disaster, spurred by the Chinese occupational forces, and starvation due to Allied bombing of Northern damns, strengthened France’s position. On March 6th, 1946, Ho Chi Minh felt compelled to reach a compromise with the French. Essentially, Ho was forced to make the maximum concessions possible short of forfeiting his dominant position within the Vietnamese nationalist movement. It took everything Ho could do to quell the dissatisfaction of other various nationalist groups with this agreement.
[Note that during 1945 to 1946, Ho Chi Minh had written at least eight letters to Truman and the State Department, asking for America’s help in winning Vietnam’s independence from the French. Ho wrote that world peace was being endangered by French efforts to reconquer Indochina and he requested that the four powers (US, USSR, China and Great Britain) intervene in order to mediate a fair settlement and bring the Indochinese issue before the United Nations.
This was a remarkable repeat of history, for in 1919 following the First World War, Ho Chi Minh had appealed to US Secretary of State Robert Lansing, to gain America’s help in achieving basic civil liberties and an improvement in the living condition for the colonial subjects of French Indochina. This plea was also ignored and no admission was even made that the US had even received the letters.(19)] ..”
What Really Happened in Vietnam The North, the South, and the American Defeat Review Essay November/December 2012 Issue By Fredrik Logevall foreignaffairs.com
“…Victory never came. Despite the more than half a million U.S. soldiers President Lyndon Johnson sent to Vietnam, and the more than eight million tons of bombs the U.S. Air Force dropped on Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1962 to 1973, Washington could not achieve its core objective: to preserve an independent, noncommunist South Vietnam for the indefinite future. In January 1973, U.S. and North Vietnamese negotiators signed a cease-fire agreement in Paris; two months later, the last U.S. ground troops left South Vietnam. Both the North and the South soon violated the cease-fire, and large-scale war resumed. On April 29, 1975, the South Vietnamese government collapsed, and Vietnam was reunified under a communist government based in Hanoi. By the time the fighting stopped, it had claimed the lives of three to four million Vietnamese, hundreds of thousands of Cambodians and Laotians, and more than 58,000 Americans. Now, Hanoi’s War, a pathbreaking new book by the historian Lien-Hang Nguyen, illuminates the decision-making behind the North’s relentless resistance, helping readers better understand why the struggle lasted as long as it did and why all those people died. ..”

The Vietnam War: 5 things you might not know By Katie McLaughlin, CNN Updated 3:47 PM ET, Mon August 25, 2014 cnn.com
“..The Vietnam War began in the decade before, but the conflict, and especially U.S. involvement, escalated in the 1960s. For the first time, Americans witnessed the horrors of war, played out on television screens in their living rooms.
This week’s episode of “The Sixties” explores the war and its impact on American culture, then and now. Here are five facts from the episode that may surprise those too young to remember the Vietnam War:..
“What Vietnam did to America via television was introduce us to a new kind of America,” said author Lawrence Wright. “One that was not pure, one that committed the same kinds of atrocities that are always committed in war, but we had never allowed ourselves to see them.”
Reporter Morley Safer recalled the shock of witnessing Marines burn down 150 houses on the outskirts of the village of Cam Ne. An officer told the newsman that he had been ordered to level the area. Three women were wounded in the attack, one baby was killed, and four people were taken prisoner.
Safer asked a soldier if he had regrets about leaving people homeless, and the soldier replied, “You can’t expect to do your job and feel pity for these people.”
Another soldier told Safer, “I think it’s sad in a way, but I don’t think there’s any other way you can get around it in this kind of a war.”
Americans back home were stunned when the CBS report about the Cam Ne village hit the news.
After the broadcast, Johnson reportedly called then-CBS president, Frank Stanton, and said, “Frank, this is your President, your boys just s–t on the flag of the United States.”..”

Facts, information and articles about The Vietnam War historynet.com
“..Vietnam War summary: Summary of the Vietnam War: The Vietnam War is the commonly used name for the Second Indochina War, 1954–1973. Usually, it refers to the period when the United States and other members of the SEATO (Southeast Asia Treaty Organization) joined the forces of the Republic of South Vietnam in contesting communist forces comprised of South Vietnamese guerrillas and regular-force units, generally known as Viet Cong (VC), and the North Vietnamese Army (NVA). The U.S. had the largest foreign military presence and basically directed the war from 1965 to 1968. For this reason, in Vietnam today it is known as the American War. It was a direct result of the First Indochina War (1946–1954) between France, which claimed Vietnam as a colony, and the communist forces then known as Viet Minh. In 1973 a “third” Vietnam war began—a continuation, actually—between North and South Vietnam but without significant U.S. involvement. It ended with communist victory in April 1975.
The Vietnam War was the longest in U.S. history, until the war in Afghanistan that began in 2002 and continues at this writing (2013). It was extremely divisive in the U.S., Europe, Australia and elsewhere. Because the U.S. failed to achieve a military victory and the Republic of South Vietnam was ultimately taken over by North Vietnam, the Vietnam experience became known as “the only war America ever lost.” It remains a very controversial topic that continues to affect political and military decisions today..”

“…Is fracking safe? And what are the potential benefits that will be forfeited if the practice is ended? Reason’s Nick Gillespie sat down with science correspondent Ronald Bailey to learn the truth about fracking. Fracking is the delightfully cheeky-sounding nickname for Hydraulic Fracturing… which sounds a little bit less delightful and more like something you do to your enemies in Starcraft. But no! It is something we do to rocks.
What is fracking and why is it controversial? 16 December 2015 From the section UK bbc.com
“…Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside.
Water, sand and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out to the head of the well.
The process can be carried out vertically or, more commonly, by drilling horizontally to the rock layer and can create new pathways to release gas or can be used to extend existing channels.
The term fracking refers to how the rock is fractured apart by the high pressure mixture. ..”

GASLAND Trailer 2010
“GASLAND – (2010) Directed by Josh Fox. Winner of Special Jury Prize – Best US Documentary Feature – Sundance 2010. Screening at Cannes 2010.
It is happening all across America and now in Europe and Africa as well – rural landowners wake up one day to find a lucrative offer from a multinational energy conglomerate wanting to lease their property. The Reason? In America, the company hopes to tap into a huge natural gas reservoir dubbed the Saudi Arabia of natural gas. Halliburton developed a way to get the gas out of the ground—a hydraulic drilling process called fracking—and suddenly America finds itself on the precipice of becoming an energy superpower.
But what comes out of the ground with that natural gas? How does it affect our air and drinking water? GASLAND is a powerful personal documentary that confronts these questions with spirit, strength, and a sense of humor. When filmmaker Josh Fox receives his cash offer in the mail, he travels across 32 states to meet other rural residents on the front lines of fracking. He discovers toxic streams, ruined aquifers, dying livestock, brutal illnesses, and kitchen sinks that burst into flame. He learns that all water is connected and perhaps some things are more valuable than money.”
GasLand 2010, from youtube.com
“Produced by Josh Fox, this film investigates instances of air and water pollution caused by fracking. Ground water becomes so contaminated that it becomes flammable, and millions of litres of poisonous gases are released from the rigs. Watch this film, and make sure you stand up to any companies trying to force you to let them drill!”
Gasland Part II from vimeo.com
“Gasland Part II follows on three years later, to continue documenting how the stakes have been raised on all sides in one of the most devastating environmental issues rapidly spreading the globe. This sequel further enriches the argument that the gas industry’s portrayal of natural gas as a clean and safe alternative to oil is a lie, where in fact fracked wells inevitably leak over time, and vent exuberantly more potent greenhouse gasses such as methane in cumulative effect, not to mention the continued string of cases of severe water contamination across the United States and even cases as far away as Australia. Gasland Part II follows deeper into these happenings, revealing yet more of an entrenched corporate collusion in the pursuit of exploiting dwindling ‘natural resources’…”

What do you know of reptilians?
The whole homosexual issue has been on the news a lot lately-especially with the recent elections! I’m just glad the elections are over….lol! Well, the topic on whether same-sex marriage should be allowed or not was a “hot issue”! I’m not here to talk about politics because I got away from that during my college years as I decided I don’t want to get involved in this as a career…thanks God! I can’t speak for God or for Christians, but my “two cents” I want to give is it doesn’t matter what “we” think about homosexuality, it’s what God “thinks”. How do we know what God thinks? Therefore, who are “we” to judge or what say do we have? ..Judge NOT!..
God’s Righteous Judgment
2 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2 Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 3 So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”[a] 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11 For God does not show favoritism….
That’s God’s decision to know what to do if we just all submit and obey. We can all read the Bible and “interpret” it in our selfish (must respect each other’s individual bad or good experiences and understand one another’s view due to their experience) way, but what I know based on what I’ve read is He is against “sexual immorality” (see Bible verses), which I’m no indifferent as I’ve committed many of these sins myself: adultery, perversity from my mouth, impure thoughts, pornography, and many other sexual inappropriate behaviors that I still continue to struggle with that are “despicable” to God that I’m not proud of. So what is “sexual immorality” (see previous blog on Struggling with Sexual Temptation)?
“12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.
…17 Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and boast in God; 18 if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19 if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20 an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth— 21 you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22 You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23 You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law? 24 As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”[b]”–Romans 2
“..“There is no one righteous, not even one
11 there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
…19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin……
Righteousness Through Faith
“21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”

I live in an area in St. Paul where there is always some guy holding-up a sign or just standing there for a “handout’. I always feel convicted or “bad” when I passed them in my “comfortable” Toyota Corolla driving by. I was in the cities for a week vacation in the end of August (see month’s highlights) and I decided I wanted to something about this before I head back to Morris (we never see any people standing on the corners “begging” for a “helping hand”). I loaded my backpack with extra water bottles and had some food that I can give away in my trunk of my car. Well, as I was doing some errands before heading off on I-94 west to Morris, I did see a “homeless” guy. I then drove to the right side of the road and parked it with my “flashers” on. As I got out of my car, I see a police car coming my way. I didn’t worry as I felt I had some good intentions and thought I was legally parked. Well, I crossed the street to the “homeless guy”. I approached him with a bag of bread rolls and a “fresh” bottle of water. I then introduced myself and explained why I stopped. I told him as a Christian, I wanted to help him. I told him the quick saying “You give a man a fish and it’ll last a day, but if I teach you how to fish-it’ll last a lifetime”. I then pointed to my bread and water, which I told him this will last for a meal or a day. I then gave him a Bible tract (Mana-Bread is the Word…), which I explained to him that this will help you for a life-time. I was worried about parked car on the side of the road, so I told him I have to go and encouraged him by saying God loves him. His name was Ernest. As I went into my car, I noticed him looking back at me with peace and I drove off praying for Ernest as I headed down the entry ramp going west on I-94.
Man Offers To Buy Homeless Man Coffee, But Helps Change His Life Instead… Stefan Armitage viralthread.com
“…Adam’s story begins just like many of our mornings do; on his usual run to the nearby Starbucks for a cup of coffee. However, outside the store, something had always played on Adam’s mind, and after weeks of regularly swallowing his guilt, Adam decided to act…..
“…Adam’s words express his anger at the system; “We’ve all heard someone say ‘why don’t they just get a job?’ or ‘they’re lazy.’ I saw firsthand how the “system” is set up to fail people like Tarec. There is no way he would have been able to do any of this without my help. Just like there are many things in my life I have needed someone to help me overcome an obstacle. We all need a little help.”….
Tech sales rep lands homeless man a job at Safeway Updated:Feb 02 2017 08:07PM PST ktvu.com
“…”I didn’t have somewhere I could rest my head at night, where I could clean up and smell properly, represent myself on the job. From there it went back down,” he said.
The lesson August says he learned: Sometimes it takes more than a job to get out of homelessness.
He has set up a Gofundme page to raise money so Tarec can get an apartment, then perhaps a job.
“If you don’t have a home it is build anything on top of that,” August said.
“I am very optimistic to see something change in my situation,” said Tarec.
And his friend still believes in him…”

“..He still lives in a tent next to highway 101 in Marin City. The rain has made life even tougher for Tarec. He still spends most of his days alone or hanging out at Starbucks. The employees and customers treat him well. It’s hard not to. The warmth in this guy’s heart is palpable.
As for the job. Safeway did indeed offer Tarec a job and we celebrated that news with ice cream. I thought we had a happy ending and a new beginning for Tarec. I was wrong. I failed and I truly apologize if anyone feels misled. With that said, TOGETHER we have an opportunity to write a happy ending and give Tarec a new shot at life.
In retrospect, I didn’t fully understand the impossible nature of having and keeping a job with no place to call home. In an effort to find Tarec a home, I visited Homeward Bound and met with their executive director, Mary Kay Sweeney, a real life angel. She taught me “a healthy home is the foundation for a prosperous life”.
We’ve come full circle.
Tarec is still homeless and jobless, but not hopeless. And because of YOU neither am I. I can’t emphasize this enough. The thousands of comments and messages I have received over the past few months has inspired me to finish what I started. Change a man’s life. Now with thousands of my closest friends, we can accomplish that together.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support.
