What do I do in daily basis to keep a “balanced life”? Here is my “typical” day that I “try” to accomplish in a regular basis that keeps me running like the “energizer” bunny:

When I get up in the morning, I try to allow time to not get rush, so I can do my daily devotions (Soul/Spirit)…

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”-Joshua 1:8

I like to read God’s Word before breakfast because feeding my soul “awakens” the other parts (e.g. body and mind). I try to ask Heavenly Father what part of His “Good” Book (Love Letter) I should read for the day. When I had some “significant” dream, I like to reflect and write what was in my dream on a notebook next to my pillow. I’m usually too tired still and most of the time “rushed”, so I usually try to pick the chapter from the Book of Proverbs based on the day. For example, tomorrow morning will be Sunday-January 29th 2012. I would read Chapter 29 of Proverbs. If I’m in a “rush”, which I try not too-I would “try” to read at least a verse from the chapter. Ideally, I like to read the whole chapter. I then meditate on what I just read and try to remember what verse or topic sticks out the most. I then ask God to “mold” me to what I just read as I want to daily “grow” in my personal relationship with Him.

I then like to get a glass of juice, which I read it’s very healthy to have a fruit (e.g. juice) before a meal. It has to do with the digestive system, which helps prepare your stomach before a meal. They recommend having a fruit at least 30minutes to an hour before a meal. I then get dressed for the day, which I then picture putting the “Armor of God” (see Ephesians 6 on Spiritual Warfare). I started doing this after attending a “small group” I was involved and a lady encouraged all of us about putting the “Armor of God” (along with the spiritual gifts) daily. She would use the analogy as putting a winter outfit before going out in the cold during the winter time-”Would you go out in the cold without a winter jacket during the winter?”-Of course “no”, it’s like putting the “Armor of God” because we know the devil is out to seek and destroy God’s children. We need that protection daily, which is why too many Christians are getting “attacked” too often because they forgot this part.

After getting dressed and my personal cares, I “try” to get my “break” “fast” (BODY). As I “run” out of the house and go into my car/bike to get to work. I then meditate one of my favorite Scripture them-”Fruits of the Spirit” (e.g. patience, peace, joy, life, etc..). This helps me to more “Christ-like” daily, which I pray and ask God for all this. I then like to get my vocal cords (voice) ready, so I do my “vocal exercises” (see GoodnewsEverybody.com Music: Kaoroke, Sing, Singing, Sung, etc..) and then “worship” the Lord through a song.

Along my ride (BODY-Bike if it’s nice weather, which is great daily exercise)/drive to work, I like to pray for various people (e.g. children waiting for the bus) and/or various topics (e.g. “Show me God how I can be used by You today”) depending on what God lays in my heart or what I see along the route.

Throughout the work day, I try to “keep my mind” occupied through breaking the daily “mundane” routine by doing different activities (e.g. singing, reading something “new”, etc..) each day. I like to ask the people I work with how was their day after work yesterday or how their weekend was. I try to keep their minds and mine renewed. I sometimes stay silent and converse with God. He sometimes give me a list of “things to do”, which I like to carry my pocket calender with me all the time.

When I come home, I try to check the list of things to do (e.g. errands). I usually spend time on my computer (e.g. email, websites, etc..) and take a break by doing some “physical exercise” (e.g. workout indoors during winter or some sport activity during the summer).

I don’t have cable, which I don’t mind as most of the stuff on it “pollutes” my mind. However, I can easily find “garbage” on the internet too. This is where that morning prayer I prayed on the “Armor of God” comes in. What has helped me in the past is regularly “fast” at least once a week (or at least 3 meals a week without food or just fruits-vegetables), which helps me “battle” daily temptation.

Before I end my day, I like to read the news to see what’s going on in the world each day. However, I can’t trust mainstream media all the time, so I look at some “alternative-positive” news. This is where I find “good news” for news sources on my different websites I do-depending on the topic-geography. I then write on my “prayer” calender what I like to lift to God in prayer. I try to remember to use this time to also ask God to remind me of my “sins” I committed and ask for forgiveness-like taking a “spiritual” shower, so I’ll be clean for a “new” day for tomorrow. I like to end with a “positive” note, so I reflect on what I”m thankful (blessed) to my Heavenly “Dad” and write it on another pocket calender. I then read some Scripture verse/chapter that relates to the theme of what happened that particular day before going to bed!

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual[a] act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.”-Romans 12:1-2

Religion is a “man-made” institutions like school, government, etc.. Anything “made” by man is “not” perfect, which we will always find something “wrong” in it. Thus, there is corruption (e.g. violence, abuse, etc..) in schools, government, etc.. We then shouldn’t give our 100% trust and total dependence on any of these institutions. Who can we trust then?

Is it violent?

It’s a lifestyle when one “tries” to follow Christ’s teachings through a “daily personal relationship” with Him!

Is it really the “Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”? I recently “really” doubted this earlier this month while volunteering to do a shift with a couple of my co-workers for the Salvation Army at a local (Morris, Minnesota) store. I grew up passing those bell ringers all the time before my family went shopping each holiday season. I finally volunteered doing this for the first time last year at a local grocery store. My co-worker and I enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it again this holiday (2011) season. It’s an interesting perspective when ringing the bell watching (staying “still” during the “busy” holiday season is a lot different than “participating” in going with the “busy” and “hustle” of the crowds of people in this increasingly “commercialized” holiday!) shoppers pass by. This year my co-worker and I noticed how “sad” people were this year compared to last year. Is it because of the so-called “tougher” economic times (despite better reports this year than last year when it came to shopping??)? Is it because certain individuals going through some personal challenges (e.g. financial challenges, flood victims in the Philippines, those without love ones due to health, past away, or unfortunate circumstances, etc..)?…

Is it because of the “pagan” origins of Christmas (as we are uncertain the date of Jesus’ actually day of birth, but that doesn’t matter)?…

When my parents immigrated here to the US in the early 70′s, we didn’t have much. We had a small two bedroom apartment in Oakdale, Minnesota. We had one bed that most of us slept together while my younger brother slept in a crib in the other bedroom. As we got older, we got “better” financially and moved to a townhouse in St. Paul. We couldn’t afford a Christmas tree, so I remember finding a big branch of a tree and we took it home to make a “makeshift” (we stuck it in a bucket of toys to stand it easier) Christmas tree. Then as we got older as kids my parents were able to afford to buy “better” gifts. I would look forward to opening Christmas gifts, but would then go “downhill” if I didn’t get the presents “I wanted” (see selfish). Is it because?…

…Jesus, “He’s” the “real” reason for the season. Find out how He is and this will help all of us find that joy (e.g. “count your blessings” -not just Thanksgiving!-before you go to bed, which I do during my nightly time of meditation) throughout “every” season!

Before Thanksgiving last month, I ran (location is anonymous to protect the privacy and identity of this lady) into this lady and I asked her-”Got any big plans for the up-coming Thanksgiving holiday?”-with a smile eager to get a “positive” answer. She responded, “Well, I won’t call it big, but just getting together with family”. Then she went on with a unhappy (less enthusiastic) voice, “We just plan to get together and eat, then can’t wait to we just get out!”. She explained to me that family get-togethers are not really something to “look forward” to due to the “hostility” amongst her family. I can understand where she’s coming from as I too have seen similar “hostility” amongst my own family-relatives, which is sad to say. If you read this, I would love your prayer for peace-reconcilliation within my family-relatives. Salamat (thanks)! A close of friend of mine, who is now deceased, once shared with me about how his family don’t get along because of different beliefs on some “philosophical” (e.g. political) issues.

A couple of weeks later, I chatted with another lady about her own family. She has a sister that just brings up the “negative” in family conversations. We talked about there seems to be at least one in every family. The family gets together with all smiles and there seems to be just one that brings up the “negative” (e.g. past ) that majority just want to not bring up!

I then was reminded of the recent theatrical performance (“Gospel According to Scrooge”) I saw earlier this month in Alexandria, Minnesota. Scrooge “bah hum bug” people during the holidays because of his traumatized past-father was sent to jail because of financial bankruptcy before Christmas ..

I’m learning in life that individuals act the way they are because of past circumstances and they take (e.g. grudge) that with them; thus “negative” behavior towards others around them. We “positive” people need to learn how to understand their situation and be patient with them (e.g. take time to listen to them). Just by doing this can bring healing to them to have them just “open-up”. Then I highly recommend praying with them for healing afterwards.

There was a scene in the play where the family was all cheery and happy until a relative (Uncle Scrooge) shows up, but was changed because of prayers of his family..

I then remembered talking to some friends (Christians) who had some personal encounters themselves. I decided to do this blog this evening as a way to collect all these stories from people (very close) that I know personally enough to build the credibility. Here are just some:

R.R. shared about her husband sharing how he saw an U.F.O. out in the farm fields late in the evening.

M.O. shared in September of this year about how he encountered a U.F.O. with a friend at a very young age. It was an amazing experience for him, which he and this friend all grown-up still share about this unique one-time experience in the state he grew-up in south of Minnesota.

B.B. shared in September about how he went camping in southern Minnesota and saw this red light from a U.F.O.

J.P. shared this evening about how he saw a U.F.O. with a green light that would stay still and then zoom quickly in the state of Alabama.

“Located west of the arena, which the back of the arena was very familiar”

I quickly started to prayer (intercede) as it matched this dream I had. There were shootings going on in this particular area. I couldn’t fully remember what was really going on, but I just felt I needed to prayer. It then came to me that going to this event was very key and that this youth event was not just an ordinary get-together. I started to prayer “a lot” more than usual as I came in to the arena.

Here is another “key” moment: I came to volunteer as an usher and got together with some folks from a local church I was invited to help out. They told us to get into groups of 7, so we decided to team together. The organizer began to assign groups to particular sections around the arena. I believe we were the 4th or 5th group to be assigned and we ended up in Section 116. ..

As we got to our section, we realize this was the “main entrance” where folks will be entering. Wow, we felt very privileged. I then shared my dream with some folks and said we weren’t put here by accident. I then began to pray more and then they started to open the gates for the people to come into the arena. I started to “try” praying for each individual that came through our section. Well, here was the result…

Impact World Tour Day #2 (Fargo, ND on Sat, Oct 8th 11)-GX International: Life of Purpose Part 2of2

The next night was also “impact full” as the them or group was “Island Breeze”. I wanted to go to Fargo to visit a friend of mine that I met last summer when he worked in Morris. He attends school at NDSU and invited him for last night’s event, but he couldn’t make it. I persistently invited him to the local church I’m connected with in Fargo, but he wasn’t able to make it. Another friend (Aric) and I decided to go at least visit him. I wanted to at least see him in person before heading back to Morris. I met him along with his housemates (also from India in their residential apartments (International Village across the Fargo Dome). After hanging out, we (Aric and I) went back to Scheels Arena for tonight’s event. I wanted to go earlier because I found out there was a prayer group from IHOP…

… praying 10am-10pm during these 3-day outreach events underneath the stands of the stadium. Right after praying, I got a text from my friend that he was planning to come, which I was very excited!

My friends and I had to sit back in the arena because I wasn’t expecting all 3 of them to come. I was expecting only 1 of them, which I saved a seat for him up front by the stage with folks from the local church I attended earlier in the day. They seem to enjoy the event and I was able to introduce them with the friends from the local church…

That is what I did one day. I searched my last name “Monteagudo”, which originates in Spain. This is where my great-grandparents immigrated from to the Philippines. It means “pointed” (agudo) “mountain” (monte) according to ancestry.com.

People ask how I got my first name, which is Salvador (sal for short)! I told them that my parents got it from a Catholic Calender (see other Philippine Baby Names) in the Philippines, which they have names for each day throughout the year. I saw this as a kid and thought it was cool. I hold dearly the meaning of my name, which is “savior” (see wikipedia & babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com). I don’t deserve the capital “S” in “savior” as that belongs to Jesus Christ Himself, who is the true “Savior“!

What now? What can we learn from this? I’ve learned many people’s ignorant biased remarks come from their environment (e.g. media, family, frioends, etc…). We just need to learn now to get “negatively” influenced by others around us and learn how to think for ourselves. Also, after this community meeting last week. I thought of my Biblical knowledge…

“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.”-2 Corinthians 10:12

, which has really helped me deal with “labeling” by others and not get “mad”. I’ve learned to be patient with understanding of individuals that ignorantly make derogatory remarks. In fact, experiences like this motivates me more on what I”m currently doing in “educating” others and finding ways to “combat” this with love and knowledge->understanding one another. Lastly, we tend to hold bitterness against one another and I feel one of the ways to deal with this is we need to forgive one another.

Here is just some scenarios of American history of the need of forgiveness. The “white” man came and “colonize” the US “killing-off” the Native American Indians. American Indians can hate the “white man” for this. However, over generations, both “races” have been mixed. It’s the same thing with me. My great grandparent is from Spain, whose country “colonized” the Philippines in the 1500′s. Well, I can’t blame the “Spainards” because I’m part Spanish. Then the “American” came and took over the Philippines after the “Spanish American War” around 1900. However, the “Americans” helped the Philippines from getting “taken over” by the Japanese during WWII. What I’m trying to get is that we’ve had a lot of world history and mixing around. We need to learn how to get along with one another as we are one global community-family. One planet!

Through this whole time, lots of questions started to pop on my mind. I even still have them popping-up as I write this. However, my peace grew as I kept giving it to God. I then started to think about the movie “Bucket List”…
